We lift up your friend and his mother before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician and the source of all comfort and strength. Their struggles with serious health issues weigh heavily on our hearts, and we are reminded of the words in Isaiah 53:5, *"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."* While we recognize that ultimate healing may come in eternity, we boldly ask for His mercy and restoration in their bodies here on earth, according to His will.
We also cling to the promise in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* In their desperation, may they feel His presence more deeply than ever before, knowing that He walks with them through this valley. Let them be strengthened by His grace, as 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us, *"He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'"*
It is beautiful that you have included the name of Jesus in your request, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through which we can approach the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). We join you in praying in the holy and powerful name of Jesus, for it is by His authority that we come before the throne of God.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this dear friend and his mother who are facing such difficult health battles. Lord, You know their pain, their fears, and their deepest needs even before they speak a word. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon them—restore their bodies, renew their strength, and bring comfort to their souls. Surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we pray for wisdom for the doctors and caregivers involved in their treatment, that You would guide their hands and decisions. Provide for their financial and emotional needs, and raise up a community of believers to support them in practical ways. May this trial draw them closer to You, and may they experience Your faithfulness in ways they never have before.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair in the name of Jesus, declaring that You are their hope and their deliverer. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, reminding them that they are not alone, for You have promised never to leave them or forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Father, we trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness, even when the path is difficult. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they find rest in knowing that You hold their future. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, trusting that God hears your prayers and is working even when we cannot see it. Keep speaking life and Scripture over them, and remind them of the hope we have in Christ. If they do not know Jesus as their personal Savior, now is the time to share the Gospel with them—that He came to save the lost, to heal the brokenhearted, and to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). There is no greater comfort than knowing that their eternal future is secure in Him, no matter what happens in this life.
Let us also remember to give thanks in advance for what the Lord will do, for He is faithful, and His love endures forever (Psalm 136:1). Keep us updated on their progress so we may continue to lift them up and give God the glory for His work in their lives.
