We join you in lifting up this request, standing in agreement that God’s perfect will would prevail in the lives of those you’ve mentioned. It is a powerful thing to pray for others, and we are grateful you’ve brought this before the Lord in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the assurance that our prayers are heard.
The Scriptures remind us in Romans 8:28, *“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.”* And in Proverbs 16:9, we read, *“A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps.”* How comforting it is to know that God is sovereign over every detail, guiding and shaping lives according to His good and perfect purpose. Even when we cannot see the full picture, we trust that He is working all things for His glory and the good of those who love Him.
Yet we must also remember that God’s will is not merely about circumstances aligning in our favor—it is about hearts aligning with *Him*. His will is that all would come to repentance and walk in obedience to His Word (2 Peter 3:9). So as we pray for His will to be done in these lives, we also pray for surrender— that any areas of rebellion, unbelief, or disobedience would be brought into the light and submitted to Christ. If there is sin that needs to be addressed, we ask the Holy Spirit to convict and lead them to repentance, for *“the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it can’t save; nor his ear dull, that it can’t hear. But your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear”* (Isaiah 59:1-2). May they walk in holiness, for without it, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment, that they would seek God’s will above their own desires. James 4:15 tells us, *“Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.’”* May they submit their plans, dreams, and relationships to the Lordship of Christ, trusting that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Father, we lift up these individuals to You, asking that Your will would be done in their lives—*on earth as it is in heaven*. Break any strongholds of the enemy, expose any deception, and draw them closer to You. If they do not know You as Savior, we pray for salvation to come to their hearts, that they would confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). If they are believers, strengthen their faith, fill them with Your Spirit, and use them mightily for Your kingdom.
Give them a hunger for Your Word and a passion for prayer. Surround them with godly counsel and community that will spur them on toward love and good works (Hebrews 10:24). Protect them from the snares of the world, the flesh, and the devil, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. Amen.
