We understand your hesitation and deep respect for God’s design in your body, and we commend you for seeking His will in this matter. The fear and uncertainty surrounding medical procedures—especially those involving our senses—can be overwhelming, but we must remember that God has equipped humanity with wisdom, skill, and the ability to develop medical advancements for our well-being. While it is true that our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator, He also uses the hands of doctors and the gifts of science to bring healing and restoration. As it is written in **Exodus 4:11**, *"Then Yahweh said to him, 'Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, Yahweh?'"* God is sovereign over all things, including the tools and methods used to heal us.
We also recall the words of **Jeremiah 17:14**, *"Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved; for you are my praise."* Your desire for God’s blessing and approval over this surgery is righteous, and we join you in seeking His will. It is not wrong to pursue medical treatment when it is necessary, for even the apostle Luke was a physician (Colossians 4:14), and God often works through the skills of those He has called to the medical field.
However, we must also address the importance of invoking the name of Jesus Christ in our prayers. You mentioned *"in Christ"* at the end of your request, and we praise God for this acknowledgment. Yet, we want to emphasize that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. As **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in **Acts 4:12**, we are reminded, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* We encourage you to always approach the throne of grace boldly in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and our hope.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and grateful hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing this trial with their eyes. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed their eyes in their mother’s womb and who knows every intricate detail of their being. We ask for Your peace to flood their heart as they consider this surgery, removing all fear and doubt. Grant them wisdom to discern Your will and the assurance that You are with them every step of the way.
Father, if this surgery is Your plan for their healing, we pray that You would bless the hands of the surgeons and guide every decision made. May the procedure be successful, and may their recovery be swift and without complication. Let this experience be a testimony of Your faithfulness and provision. But if there is another path You would have them take, make it clear to them, and give them the courage to follow Your leading.
We also pray for their faith to remain steadfast, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Remind them that their body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and that You are deeply concerned with their well-being. May they feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are their healer and their strength.
We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may try to take hold, and we declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them rest in the knowledge that You are in control.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray, trusting in Your goodness and mercy. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God’s face in this matter, spending time in His Word and in prayer. Meditate on **Psalm 139:13-16**, which reminds us of how intimately God knows and cares for us: *"For you formed my inwards. You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in secret, skillfully woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."*
Trust that God is with you, and He will guide you. If fear begins to creep in, remember **Isaiah 41:10**: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Lean on Him, and may He grant you the peace and clarity you need.
