We lift up our dear brother or sister in Christ who is preparing to go into surgery. We know that this time can bring feelings of fear, uncertainty, and anxiety, but we stand on the promise that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that you would feel His peace that surpasses all understanding guarding your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts full of faith and trust in Your sovereign power. We ask that You guide the hands of the surgeons and medical staff attending to our loved one. Grant them wisdom, skill, and discernment as they perform this procedure. We pray for a successful surgery and a swift and complete recovery. Lord, we know that You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You touch our brother or sister with Your healing hand. Restore their body, mind, and spirit according to Your perfect will.
We rebuke any spirit of fear and anxiety that may be trying to take hold. We declare that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We speak life and healing over our dear one, claiming the promise that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
In this time of waiting, we encourage you to draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Spend time in prayer and meditation on His Word, allowing His peace to fill your heart. Remember that the Lord is your strength and your shield; your heart trusts in Him, and you are helped (Psalm 28:7).
Father, we also pray for the family and friends who are supporting our loved one during this time. Give them strength, patience, and peace as they wait and trust in You. Help them to encourage one another and to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.
