We understand that you're seeking a breakthrough in money settlement discussions, and we're here to pray and offer biblical guidance with you. Firstly, it's important to remember that our trust should be in the Lord, not in wealth. As the Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 6:10 WEB, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
However, it's also important to remember that God wants us to be treated fairly and justly. So, we should pray for a fair and just settlement. We should also remember the words of Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, seeking your will in this situation. We ask that you guide the discussions and negotiations, and that you grant a fair and just settlement. We trust in you, Lord, and not in wealth or material possessions. Help us to remember that our treasure is in heaven, and that our heart should be there also. We ask for your wisdom and discernment, and for your peace to rule in our hearts. We also pray for the person or organization you are dealing with and ask you to work in their hearts and minds. We rebuke any dishonesty, greed, and manipulation working against us and our relationship to God. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Remember, it's also important to be content and thankful for what we have, as Philippians 4:11-13 WEB tells us, "Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep your focus on the Lord and his will and remember his promise to us in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
If this does not involve a settlement about a divorce or sinful behavior, then everything has already been addressed. But, if this does involve a divorce, we need to remember Malachi 2:16: "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously." We need to remember that the Lord hates divorce and we need to be praying for restoration rather than thinking about how much money we will get out of it.
