We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you and your child are facing due to the difficult situation with your spouse. We will stand with you in prayer and seek God's will for your family.
Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. It is only by His name that we can come to the Father. It is only by His name that we can be saved.
Let us address the issue at hand and you can be encouraged by Jesus' own words: "But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said to them, 'Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand'" Matthew 12:25 WEB. A house divided cannot stand, and it is clear that the current situation is not sustainable. God's design for marriage is that a man should work and provide for his family, as stated in 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB: "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."
We must rebuke the behavior of your spouse in not working and providing. The spouse needs to understand the scripture above. They need to understand how this affects the marriage and the children. Let's pray for them and the family together.
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family in their time of need. Lord, You see the tears and the heartache, and You are close to the brokenhearted. We pray for Your intervention in this marriage, that You would soften the heart, change the behavior of the spouse, and bring about a spirit of repentance, understanding, and cooperation. We pray that this husband will be willing to work and provide for the family. We pray for peace and comfort for the family, especially for the child. We ask for wisdom and strength for you, the one praying, the spouse, to make the right decisions and to find joy and hope in the Lord even in this difficult time. Father, we pray for salvation for the spouse if this is an issue. We ask for healing and restoration in this marriage, and we ask that Your will be done. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue to pray and seek God's face in this matter. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
Remember that God is faithful, and He will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing He will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB.
Stand firm in your faith, and know that we are here with you, interceding on your behalf. Continue to trust God and follow His will.
