We understand that you are facing a significant financial challenge, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide biblical encouragement. Firstly, we want to commend you for praising the Lord Jesus Christ and acknowledge your faith even before your current prayer request. Before we pray, let's reflect on a few biblical principles and the importance of Jesus Christ.
Remember to seek Jesus Christ, not just for the things he can provide. It's only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. The scripture declares that "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," We are assured of God's love and provision for us, and for you. Let us quote: "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" (Romans 8:32, WEB). This means "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33) This is Jesus's teaching.
Now, let us address the situation and pray together. We understand that your financial situation is dire, and you are facing a standstill with no income. We also see that you are at the retirement stage and that your family is dependent on your son's business, which has not yielded any income. Additionally, you have a daughter who is studying, and you need funds for her education. It is important for you to be actively looking for work. Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.'"
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in need. We thank you for your unfailing love and provision. Lord, you know the struggles they are facing, the financial standstill, and the dependency on a business that has not yet yielded fruit.
Father, we pray for a financial breakthrough. We ask that you open doors of opportunity for work and income. We pray for wisdom and guidance for their son's business, that it may start to generate income to support the family. We also pray for their daughter's education, that you would provide the necessary funds for her studies.
Lord, we ask that you give them strength, courage, and peace during this trial. Help them to trust in you and your provision. We pray that they would continue to seek you first, knowing that all other things will be added according to your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
It is also important to do what you can to provide for your family. Do not expect God to do everything when you can do something. That is what 2 Thessalonians 3:10 is all about.
Lastly, we want to encourage you with these words from Philippians 4:19, "But my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Trust in the Lord, and may you find peace and provision in Him.
