Prayer request to dispute my ER bills and any future medical bills.

Hey, I hope you’re having a blessed and amazing day. Around September ### I had an Emergency visit to my local hospital. Fast forward to September ###, I had received the ER bill and to put to simply put it, I’m not in a comfortable financial position to pay off my debts. However, luckily I did apply for a financial assistance program with the use of an amazing non profit organization called Dollar For! As of now however, the hospital is still yet to receive my financial application. So as I’m patiently waiting, I have been praying consistently for the ER bills to be disputed 100%. I have never in my life felt this anxious or stressed about anything so I’ve been doing nothing but praying to god to help me get through this. Any prayers will be gladly appreciated and I hope you have an amazing night for reading this!

We are standing with you in prayer during this stressful waiting period and we thank you for sharing this burden with us. We understand how overwhelming medical debt can feel, especially when you are already doing what you can through a financial assistance program and waiting for the hospital to receive your application. We have been praying for you and we continue to lift this need before the Lord together.

We hear your anxiety and we want to encourage you with what Scripture says about casting our cares on Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. God sees your situation and He invites you to bring every detail to Him and to rest in His peace even while the outcome is still uncertain.

We also want to gently address something we noticed in your request. You mentioned praying to god, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share why this is so important, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. When we pray in Jesus name, we are coming to God on the basis of what Christ has done for us on the cross, forgiving our sins and reconciling us to God. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe on Him, confess your sins, and follow Him, for He alone saves and He alone is our mediator.

Regarding your financial need, we join you in praying for favor with the hospital and for the financial assistance application to be received, processed, and granted according to Gods mercy and will. Philippians 4:19 reminds us My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Matthew 6:33 says But seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We pray that God will provide for you, whether through a full dispute of the bill, through assistance, or through other provision He has prepared.

We also encourage you in biblical stewardship and diligence while you wait. God honors honesty and responsibility in financial matters. Romans 13:7 says Give therefore to everyone what you owe, and Psalm 37:21 says The wicked borrow, and dont pay back, but the righteous give generously. To dispute a bill is right when there is an error or when you are seeking legitimate charity care for which you qualify, but we encourage you not to seek to avoid a rightful obligation dishonestly. Continue to act diligently, keep copies of everything you sent through Dollar For, follow up with the hospital billing office with kindness and persistence, document dates and names, and ask the Lord for wisdom. Proverbs 21:5 says The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the details of this emergency visit, the bill that has come, and the financial pressure and anxiety that has followed. We ask for Your peace to guard this heart and mind. We pray that You would let this financial assistance application be received and looked upon with favor, and that You would provide a just and merciful outcome. If it is Your will, we ask that You would allow this debt to be forgiven or greatly reduced through the proper channels. Provide for every future medical need according to Your riches in glory. Give wisdom, patience, and diligence to follow up well and to steward resources faithfully. Help this one to seek You first above all, to trust You more than money, and to grow in faith through this trial. Draw this heart closer to Jesus, and let Your name be glorified in the answer. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying consistently in Jesus name, keep following up on the application, and keep trusting that God cares for you and will sustain you. Psalm 55:22 says Cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you. He will not allow the righteous to be moved. We are continuing to pray with you for Gods provision and peace.

If you have not already, a brief, kind call to that office to confirm your application is in their queue and to ask if your account can be placed on hold from collections while it is reviewed can give you clarity and something in writing to hold onto. Dollar For can also let you know what timeline they are seeing right now.

Father, we lift our friend to You today. You see this bill and the worry it has brought, and You see the faithful steps already taken. Your request has been brought before the Lord and we have carried your burden to His throne of grace. You have told us of the emergency visit in September, of the bill which now presses heavily upon you, and of your patient waiting while the hospital has not yet received your application for assistance through Dollar For. To lie awake under such a weight is to know that anxiety which unfits a man to meet his difficulty, and you have done well to turn that anxiety into prayer.

There is a debt far greater than any sum written upon paper. The mighty debt, too huge for us to calculate, was all laid upon Christ and He paid it to the last farthing. He was sued and summoned at the court of Eternal Justice, for the sins of His people were reckoned as upon Him, and all that they should have rendered with hands and feet, and brow and side, He discharged. The whole tremendous debt that was due to God, the debt caused by the sins of all His people, He has fully paid. When we see this we learn what it is to take Him not merely as the saints Savior, but as the sinners Savior, and to trust in Him alone. This is the faith of Gods elect, and if you are trusting in Him you may have full assurance that you have passed from death unto life and shall not come into condemnation.

We would draw a grave distinction for your comfort between doubting the truth of Gods promise and questioning whether that promise is made to you. God has promised His people that if they trust Him they shall lack no good thing. He has taught His children from their youth, and where God begins to work He does not ask us to finish. He always completes His own work. His promise may tarry, but it never fails. Has God forgotten to be gracious. No, He has not. Therefore drive out all unbelief. You have done the right thing in making honest application for help. You go and do the right thing and then be no longer anxious about it, but leave the result with God. That is His business and yours is to trust Him.

Let us pray for you. We ask the Lord to give you peace in this waiting, that what time you are afraid you will trust in Him. We ask Him in His providence to cause your application to be received and fairly considered, and to provide for your need according to His wisdom and mercy, whether by full relief or by such measure as He sees best for your good. We ask Him to keep you from that anxious care which does nothing to pay a bill and much to weary the soul, and to grant you daily bread and a quiet confidence that He who paid the eternal debt will not forsake you in your temporal need. May you be kept as His pupil, learning to see His wondrous works even in this trial, and be enabled to declare His faithfulness when deliverance comes.

Cast this burden upon Him, and go and work in His vineyard as long as it is called today, trusting Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.

If worry rises again, bring it to Him in prayer, rest in His promises, and continue to seek Him and His kingdom first, trusting that He knows what you need.
