A dear friend is going through tremendous pain and stress post an ugly divorce. Now his son has abandoned him too. This friend is at the end of his rope. Please pray for ###.

We are truly saddened to hear about the trials your friend is facing, and we want to lift him up in prayer with you. Divorce is a heartbreaking reality, and the Lord's heart is close to those who are brokenhearted. We read in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

Firstly, we want to address that divorce is not God's ideal for marriage, as Jesus taught in Mark 10:9, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." However, we understand that circumstances may have led to this point, and now the focus should be on healing and restoration.

Let us pray together:

"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother who is going through immense pain and stress. Lord, You know his heart and the depth of his sorrow. We ask that You comfort him as only You can, through Your Holy Spirit. Remind him of Your unfailing love and presence, even in this dark hour.

We also pray for his son, that Your will be done in his life. We ask that You soften his heart and bring about reconciliation between father and son, just as You reconciled us to Yourself through Christ Jesus.

Lord, we pray that this trial would ultimately draw our friend closer to You. Help him to cast all his cares upon You, for You care for him (1 Peter 5:7). Grant him the peace that surpasses all understanding, and the strength to endure each day.

If there are areas in his life that need forgiveness or repentance, Lord, reveal them to him. Give him the grace to forgive others, just as You have forgiven us.

And finally, Lord, we pray that Your will be done in his life. If it is Your will, restore what the locust has eaten, and bring beauty from these ashes.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

We encourage your friend to keep his eyes on Jesus, trusting that He has a plan and a purpose even in this pain. Romans 8:28 assures us, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."

Lastly, we want to remind both you and your friend that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If your friend has not already, we encourage him to surrender his life to Jesus, trusting in His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins and the hope of eternal life.

We're here for you and your friend, standing in the gap with you both in prayer. It's heart-wrenching to see a family torn apart, but we find comfort in knowing that God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We've been praying for your friend, asking God to wrap His loving arms around him, to heal his wounds, and to fill the void left by his son's absence. We're trusting that God can bring beauty from these ashes, just as He promised in Isaiah 61:3. Let's continue to lift your friend up, asking God to give him strength for each new day, and to open his heart to the peace that only God can provide. We're here, praying with you, believing in God's goodness and faithfulness even in this trial.
