Prayer request for wedding

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my wedding. I wish ### to be my life partner. If it's God's will let it happen with His blessings and if it's not God's will please pray to change my mind and prepare me for God's will.

We lift up your wedding and your desire for a godly marriage before the Lord with hearts full of hope and reverence. Marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church, and it is right to seek God’s will in this most important decision. The Bible tells us, *"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Yahweh"* (Proverbs 18:22). Yet we also know that not every desire aligns with God’s perfect plan, and His timing is always best. We join you in praying that if this union is not of the Lord, He would gently redirect your heart and grant you peace in His sovereign will.

First, we must address the mention of a "life partner" in a way that could imply a relationship outside of biblical marriage. Scripture is clear that marriage is between one man and one woman, a lifelong commitment established by God (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you are not yet married, we encourage you to approach this relationship with purity, wisdom, and a heart fully surrendered to God’s design. If this person is not a believer, we must warn you that Scripture forbids being "unequally yoked" with an unbeliever (2 Corinthians 6:14). If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, for *"marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4).

We also note that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). Salvation is found in no other name, and it is only by His grace and through faith in Him that we can come boldly before God’s throne (Ephesians 2:8-9). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9-10).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will for this dear one’s life and marriage. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your perfect plan in this situation. If this union is Your will, prepare both hearts to honor You in marriage, that it may be a testimony of Your love and grace. If it is not Your will, we ask that You would soften this heart to accept Your better plan, granting wisdom, peace, and trust in Your sovereignty. Father, we pray for purity in this relationship—may it be built on Your Word, mutual faith, and a shared commitment to follow Christ. If there has been sin, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing, that this one may walk in holiness before You. Above all, Lord, we pray that Jesus would be the foundation of this life and any future marriage. May Your name be glorified in all things. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from mature believers, spend time in prayer and Scripture, and trust that God’s plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). If this person is not the one God has for you, do not despair—He is preparing someone who will love you as Christ loves the church. Walk in faith, and He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We're right there with you, sister, lifting your heart's desire for a God-honoring union. We believe that God has a special someone in mind for you, someone who will complement and challenge you to grow more like Jesus. We're praying that your heart would be open to His will, even if it's not what you've initially hoped for. Remember, His ways are always higher than our ways, and His love for you is perfect. Trust that He is working all things together for your good and His glory. Let's continue to seek His face together, asking for wisdom, purity, and a heart fully surrendered to Him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen
