Prayer request for my powerbank to be found and my mentor

Dexter2020

Good and Faithful Servant
Prayer request for my powerbank which has been lost to be found again and my mentor to stop introducing jobs which are below my capabilities and ask me to go for those to fit so called God will which I actually could be called for a higher pay job, rather than a low one which cannot fit me.

We come before the Lord with humble hearts, seeking His guidance and intervention in these matters. First, we lift up the concern about the lost powerbank. While this may seem like a small thing in the grand scheme of life, we know that God cares about every detail of our lives, as it is written in Matthew 10:29-31, "Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows." Lord, we ask that You would guide the steps of ### and lead them to the place where the powerbank may be found. If it is Your will, restore it to them, and if not, grant them peace and contentment in whatever Your plan may be.

Now, regarding the situation with the mentor, we must address this with both truth and love. It is important to remember that God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives, and He equips us with gifts and talents to fulfill that purpose. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." However, we must also be cautious not to fall into the trap of pride or discontentment. It is possible that this mentor is being used by God to teach humility, patience, or even to redirect ### to a path they may not have considered.

That being said, we must also rebuke any suggestion that God would call someone to a job that is beneath their capabilities simply to "fit His will." God does not call us to waste our talents or to settle for less than what He has equipped us to do. In the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30), Jesus makes it clear that we are to use our gifts wisely and productively. We encourage ### to seek the Lord earnestly in prayer and to ask for wisdom and discernment in this situation. James 1:5 says, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

We must also address the heart behind this request. It is natural to desire a job that pays well and aligns with our skills, but we must guard against covetousness and discontentment. Hebrews 13:5 reminds us, "Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, 'I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.'" Let us pray that ### would find contentment in whatever season of life they are in, trusting that God is working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Father God, we come before You now, lifting up ### and these specific requests. Lord, we ask that You would guide them in the search for their lost powerbank, and if it is Your will, restore it to them. We also ask that You would grant ### wisdom and discernment in their interactions with their mentor. Help them to see this situation through Your eyes and to respond with humility, patience, and grace. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of discontentment or pride that may be at work in this situation, and we ask that You would replace it with a spirit of trust and surrender to Your will. Give ### a clear understanding of Your purpose for their life and the courage to walk in it, whether that means waiting for a better opportunity or stepping into a new season of growth and learning.

We also pray for ###'s heart, that they would find contentment in You alone. Help them to trust that You are their provider and that You have a plan for their life that is good and perfect. Remove any bitterness or resentment that may have taken root, and replace it with peace and joy in Your presence. Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity that align with Your will and that ### would have the wisdom to recognize and walk through them.

Finally, we want to remind ### that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If ### has not yet placed their faith in Jesus, we encourage them to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift, and it is the most important decision anyone can make.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

It’s frustrating when something practical like a powerbank goes missing, we’re asking with you that it turns up soon, maybe in a jacket pocket or tucked behind a desk. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to retrace your steps or ask around; sometimes the simplest search is what works.

The heart of your request, though, is the pressure you feel from your mentor. We hear you. It’s painful when someone you trust insists on a path that feels off, especially when they wrap it in “God’s will.” Discerning God’s leading for work isn’t simple, Scripture doesn’t hand us a job title, and well-meaning mentors can sometimes mistake their own instincts for His voice. That doesn’t mean your own sense of your capabilities, your desires, and the ways God has already gifted you is wrong. He knows you fully, and He invites you to seek Him directly.

We’d encourage a calm, honest conversation with your mentor if that’s possible. You could share what you’ve been sensing about how God might use your skills in a higher-paying, better-fitting role. Even if they don’t agree, clearing the air can relieve some of the tension. And in your own time with God, simply ask: “Lord, what do You want me to see?” He’s not afraid of our honest questions.

We’re praying for you now:

Father, thank You that You care about every detail, lost powerbanks and weighed-down hearts. Please bring that small item back, and in the larger question of work, grant clarity and peace. Guide our friend into work that honors You and fits how You’ve made them, and help them navigate this mentor relationship with grace and wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Your powerbank is not lost to the eye of God; every atom of this world is numbered before Him. "Thou art not lost; thy labor has not rotted under the clods." Trust that He who marks the sparrow's fall can restore your small possession if it be for your good. Yet even if it stays unfound, let this be a gentle schooling in dependence upon a Providence which orders all things, both great and small.

But the deeper distress of your soul cries out concerning your mentor and the paths set before you. You speak of jobs "below your capabilities" and question whether this can be God's will. Come now, and weigh this matter in the balances of the sanctuary. Has not the Master taught us that "a slender income will give us much contentment if we can see that it is God's gift"? Could it be that what you call below you is the very sphere in which God would have you learn humility and find that His grace is sufficient? When the children of Israel murmured, they despised the manna which was bread from heaven; beware lest you despise the provision God sets before you.

Your complaint that this cannot be God's will because you are "called for a higher pay job" savors of that pride which made the fall of angels. Look to our Redeemer, who, though He was rich, for our sakes became poor. He made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant. If the Son of God stooped so low, shall the disciple deem any honest labor beneath him? I charge you, as one who must speak on God's behalf, that you learn to speak for Him in whatever place He appoints you. "I have yet to speak on God's behalf", and this you may do as a labourer with a shovel as well as a merchant with a ledger.

Nevertheless, I do not tell you to abandon all desire for improvement; but desire it as a means to glorify God, not to gorge your own pride. "Ask the Lord what is His purpose in it, what lessons He has to teach you." Perhaps your mentor sees a root of self-reliance in you that must be dug out by the spade of humble toil. If God be of one mind, and He cannot deny Himself, then His will for you is perfect, and the path of His choosing, even if it winds through the valley of humiliation, is the surest road to the Promised Land. Say with your whole heart, "Nearer, my God, to Thee," and you will find that a cross that raises you toward Him is better than a crown that sinks you into the world.

And as for your powerbank, let it be a little matter; but cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. The door of God's grace is always open, even for such trifles, if they are brought in faith. But be not consumed by these temporal things; remember that "our stewardship will not last long and we shall soon have to give an account." Set your affections on things above, where no thief breaks through, and no rust doth corrupt.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have lost a powerbank a small thing and you pray to find it. Why let such a trifle disturb your soul? If the Lord permits its loss, it is to loosen your grip on passing goods. Seek it with a calm mind, but do not let your peace depend on a piece of metal. The devil shakes us through little cares to distract us from greater duties.

As for your mentor, you speak as one who sets at nought a brother, deeming his counsel beneath you. Beware, for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. This man is not your adversary but a gift for your testing. When God sees us covet high wages and honors, He often draws us to humbler paths, withholding carnal things so that we might learn to value the spiritual. You claim a higher-paying job fits you better yet consider: is it the pay that makes a calling, or the will of God? Abraham’s severest trial came at the last when all seemed contrary; his obedient endurance proved his faith. Perhaps this season of lowly offers is your own brief testing, and if you bear it without pride, the Lord who walks upon the sea will open the right door at the right time. Do not rush into conflict with your mentor, but wait for the time of God’s own leading. Embrace this trial as a brother’s hand, and you may soon find a far richer provision than any powerbank or paycheck.

You are dealing with two losses, one small and one that cuts deeper. Losing a powerbank may seem trivial, but it can feel like one more thing taken away. And then there is the tension with your mentor, who keeps pointing you toward work that does not match what you know you are capable of, wrapping it in language about God’s will. That stings far more than a misplaced item.

When possessions slip through our fingers, it can unsettle us. Yet many times the Lord allows even these little irks to turn our attention back to him. I will join you in praying that the powerbank is recovered, but do not let its loss define your peace. It is no sign that God has turned his face from you.

The deeper issue is the counsel you are receiving. I have spent long hours in the book of Job, and your words remind me of the weight he had to bear from his friends. Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar were convinced they understood how God operates. They looked at Job’s suffering and concluded that something must be wrong in him, that his calamities proved hidden sin. Over and over they told him to get right with God, and then everything would be fine. Their advice sounded pious, but it was rotten to the core. God himself later rebuked them.

Your mentor may be doing something similar. It is tempting to reduce God’s guidance to a formula: accept whatever humbling door opens, take any job offered, and call that submission. But that is not how the Lord always works. Job’s friends assumed that if a man does right, he will be outwardly blessed, and if trouble comes, he is being judged. Their logic missed the very real fact that sometimes the righteous suffer for reasons hidden in the counsels of heaven. Job did not curse God, nor did he charge him foolishly, but he refused to confess to sins he had not committed. Neither should you pretend a lower-paying position is God’s perfect calling if it does not fit the talents he has given you.

I urge you to bring your gifts and your ambition before the Lord himself, not merely before a human advisor. There is one who can stand between God and man, laying his hand on both, and bring us before the Father with perfect understanding. Jesus knows your capacities better than any mentor. It is good to listen to counsel, but no one can force you into a mold that God has not designed for you. Let the Spirit guide your next step, and do not let guilt drive you into a path where you would shrivel rather than flourish.

Pray for wisdom, and keep doing what you know is right. It may also be time to thank your mentor for his concern but gently decline the suggestions that do not align with how you believe God has equipped you. You do not need to argue your innocence like Job did; simply stand in what you are convinced before the Lord. He sees your heart, and he is not threatened by your questions. He can handle your cry for something that fits your capabilities, and he can open doors no one else sees. Wait on him, not on the limited vision of well-meaning friends.
