Prayer request for my country ###

We are now in an ongoing civil war in the country. It is not an invasion, but the people are killing themselves for political power and interests. You would hear the news in Ukraine of how devastating and heartbreaking it is, but it is not worse than what we face, and we experience the same feelings; lockdown, pressure, fear, and anxiety. The Myanmar military had been controlling the country for many decades, just a few years after independence. After killing, torture, and lives destroyed for many, they somehow let us free during 2015–2020. It was a rare and great opportunity for us, and we felt safe. The protest leader ### was put in prison for decades, then they let her free, and she ruled for a five-year term, which we called democracy. Then we had an election in November 2020. A nightmare came on 1st February 2021. Though we experienced democracy, the military had made their own constitution, in which 25% of political power belongs to them in the House, and the constitution states that no one could retaliate against them for any criminal charges. The military was always looking for an opportunity to seize power, and with their accusation of election fraud in 2020, they seized power in a coup and arrested all leaders, the president, and the cabinet members. Most have already died, and many have been killed during these years of 2021–2025, and it is still ongoing. I still remember the morning I woke up on 1st February, shocked that mobile networks were not working, TV was not working, there was no electricity, and military troops were everywhere. We did not know what to do. They released thousands of prisoners with some drug injection, and these people created problems everywhere by poisoning water tanks or committing arson on homes. We blocked our street, guarded our homes at night, and we did not trust each other. We slept keeping a stick and a torchlight near the bed. We could not endure the suffering and fled out of town for three months with our church members. There is much suffering and persecution, and there is no rule of law. Last week, they bombed a hospital and some schools. Many innocent people, school children, and patients died every day, and my birthplace has now turned into a war zone. Things are very expensive, and people go missing especially young girls and children are lost every day. The military come to check our homes at night, and we are required to report our household list to a military-appointed department in the village every two weeks, and we still need to pay money for it. There are many more… Civilians fight for our rights by holding guns and forming the People’s Defense Force (PDF) to fight back against the military. The majority of Myanmar is under civilian forces, and the military bombs these places every day with airstrikes. Therefore, those places will not have elections. They also arrest leaders who fight for democracy. Many people died everyday, life insecure, unsafe to go outside after 6pm, the military take porter to the young people or take by force to join the army and sent them the front line, it is very risk between 18-35 ages. They bomb with airstrikes to village, school, hospital and burned the whole villages. This has been a nightmare for all of us everyday. Please pray for my country, Myanmar, that the situation will get better and that we will have freedom very soon.

We lift our voices together in anguish and hope for your beloved nation of Myanmar, standing with you in the shadow of this great suffering. The weight of civil war, the loss of innocent lives, the destruction of homes, hospitals, and schools—these are not merely headlines but the daily reality of your people. We mourn with you, for the Lord declares in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Your pain is seen by the God who collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8).

The oppression you describe—where fear rules the night, where children are stolen, where the powerful exploit the weak with impunity—is an abomination to the Lord. Proverbs 29:2 warns, "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan." The military’s grip, built on violence and unchecked authority, stands in direct defiance of God’s design for justice and peace. We rebuke the spirit of tyranny that seeks to crush the hope of your nation, for the Lord says in Isaiah 1:17, "Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow."

Yet we also recognize the courage of those who stand for righteousness, even at great cost. The People’s Defense Force and all who resist injustice reflect the spirit of Esther, who risked her life to save her people, declaring, "If I perish, I perish" (Esther 4:16). We pray for their protection, wisdom, and strength, that their fight would not be in vain. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed (Psalm 9:9), and He hears the cries of the afflicted (Psalm 10:17).

We must also address the spiritual battle beneath the physical one. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he has sown division, fear, and despair in Myanmar. But Jesus came to bring life—and life abundantly. We declare that the gates of hell will not prevail against the church in Myanmar (Matthew 16:18). The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church, and even in persecution, the gospel advances.

To those reading this who may not yet know Jesus as Lord, we urge you: this world’s suffering reveals our need for a Savior. Jesus alone offers true freedom—not just from earthly oppression, but from sin and death. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Turn to Him today, for He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) and the only One who can bring lasting hope.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for Myanmar. Lord, You see the bloodshed, the fear, and the injustice. You hear the cries of the widows, the orphans, and the oppressed. We ask You to arise, O God, and let Your enemies be scattered (Psalm 68:1). Break the chains of tyranny and bring an end to this civil war. Raise up leaders who fear You, who will govern with justice and righteousness.

Protect the innocent, Lord. Shield the children, the elderly, and the vulnerable from harm. Provide for those who have lost everything—food, shelter, safety. Strengthen the hands of those who fight for freedom, both in the physical and spiritual realms. Give them wisdom, courage, and unity.

We pray for the church in Myanmar. May they be a light in the darkness, a refuge for the weary, and a voice for the voiceless. Let Your Word spread rapidly and be honored (2 Thessalonians 3:1), even in the midst of persecution. Comfort those who mourn, heal the brokenhearted, and restore hope to the hopeless.

Father, we ask for a miracle. Let this nightmare end soon. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), reign in Myanmar. May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, in Myanmar as it is in heaven.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who reigns forever and ever. Amen.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are deeply moved by your heartfelt plea and have carried the weight of your nation’s suffering before the Lord in prayer these past days. It has been our privilege to stand in the gap with you, lifting up Myanmar and every precious life caught in this relentless storm of violence, fear, and oppression. We have prayed for an end to the bloodshed, for the protection of the innocent—especially the children and young people so vulnerable to abduction and forced conscription. We have asked God to shield the People’s Defense Forces and all who bravely resist tyranny, that their courage would not falter and their cause for justice would prevail.

We have interceded for the families torn apart by disappearances, for the parents grieving children lost to airstrikes, and for the communities living under the constant shadow of terror. The images of bombed hospitals and burned villages have gripped our hearts, and we have pleaded with the Lord to intervene—to bring comfort where there is mourning, provision where there is scarcity, and safety where there is danger. We have asked Him to expose the schemes of those who abuse power and to turn their hearts toward mercy, or to remove them from authority if they refuse to repent.

Most of all, we have prayed for the light of Christ to pierce the darkness over your land. That even in the midst of such suffering, His presence would be near to the brokenhearted, His peace would guard the minds of those paralyzed by fear, and His hope would sustain those who feel forgotten. We believe God hears the cries of His people, and we trust that He is at work even when the path forward is unseen.

If you have seen any glimmers of His faithfulness—whether in answered prayers, acts of kindness, or moments of unexpected strength—we would be honored to hear your praise report. If the burden still feels heavy and the night still long, please do not hesitate to share your request again. We stand ready to continue praying with you, trusting that the God who parted the Red Sea and raised Christ from the dead is more than able to bring freedom to Myanmar.

May the Lord bless you with His nearness in these trying days. May He surround you with His angels, provide for your every need, and use even this suffering for His greater purpose. We pray all these things in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus.
