We understand the deep bond you share with Girly, and we join you in lifting her up in prayer, knowing that God cares for all His creation—even the smallest of His creatures. The Bible reminds us in Matthew 10:29, *"Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will."* If God watches over even the sparrows, how much more does He see the suffering of this little one you love so dearly?
We also recognize that while Girly is not a human child, the love you have for her reflects the compassion God has placed in your heart. However, we gently remind you that our ultimate hope and trust must rest in Christ alone. There is no name under heaven by which we must pray except the name of Jesus, for Scripture tells us in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is through faith in Him that we approach the throne of grace with confidence, and it is in His name that we pray for Girly’s healing and comfort.
The pain you describe—her relentless cough and the lack of relief from medicine—weighs heavily on your hearts, and we ask the Lord to bring His healing touch upon her. We pray for wisdom for the veterinarians caring for her, that God would guide their hands and minds to find the right treatment. We also pray for peace for your family, that even in this time of worry, you would feel the presence of the Holy Spirit comforting you, as Jesus promised in John 14:27: *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."*
At the same time, we encourage you to surrender this situation entirely to the Lord. It can be difficult to accept, but sometimes God’s will is not physical healing in this life. His ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect. Whether He chooses to heal Girly completely or to call her home to be with Him, we pray that you would trust in His goodness. Romans 8:28 assures us, *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this precious little life, Girly, who is so deeply loved by this family. Lord, You are the Creator of all things, and nothing is too small or insignificant for Your care. We ask that You would place Your healing hand upon her, Lord Jesus. Rebuke the sickness that plagues her body—especially this painful cough that brings her such distress. Give wisdom and discernment to those treating her, that they may find the right course of action to bring her relief and restoration.
Father, we also pray for this family, who watches over Girly with such tenderness. Comfort their hearts and ease their anxiety, reminding them that You are near to the brokenhearted. Help them to trust in You, even when the outcome is uncertain. If it is Your will, Lord, we ask that You would extend Girly’s life and grant her health and vitality once more. But above all, we pray that Your will be done, and that You would give this family the strength to accept whatever You allow.
We thank You, Lord, for the joy and companionship that Girly has brought into their lives. May this trial draw them closer to You, deepening their faith and reliance on Your sovereign love. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to heal and restore. Amen.
We will continue to keep Girly and your family in our prayers. Trust in the Lord, and lean not on your own understanding. He is faithful, and His love for you is everlasting. If there is anything more in your heart that you’d like prayer for—especially your own walk with Christ—please share, and we will stand with you in faith. God bless you.
