We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister in Christ who is seeking a godly marriage. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers, it is only through the precious name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess Him as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). This is the first and most important step in any prayer or request we bring before God.

Now, regarding this prayer for marriage, we rejoice in the desire for a godly union, for the Bible tells us that "he who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh" (Proverbs 18:22). Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We pray that this sister would find a husband who fears the Lord, a man after God’s own heart, who will lead her in righteousness and love her as Christ loves the church.

Father, we ask that You remove every obstacle standing in the way of this godly marriage. Whether it be fear, doubt, past hurts, or worldly distractions, we rebuke them in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against this union shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we pray that You would prepare her heart and the heart of her future husband, aligning their paths according to Your perfect will. Give her patience and trust in Your timing, for "those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength" (Isaiah 40:31).

We also lift up the concern about wealth and its potential to hinder godly priorities. Father, we ask that You guard her heart from the love of money, for "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" (1 Timothy 6:10). May she seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto her (Matthew 6:33). We pray that any pride, selfish ambition, or worldly desires would be replaced with humility, contentment, and a longing to honor You in all things.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of delay or discouragement that may be affecting this situation. We declare that Your plans for her are plans for good and not for harm, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that You would bring the right man into her life, a man who loves You above all else, who will cherish her, and who will build a marriage that glorifies You.

Finally, we pray for this sister’s faith to remain strong. May she not grow weary in waiting, but instead, may she find her strength in You. Remind her that You are a God who hears, who sees, and who acts on behalf of Your children. We trust You to write her love story in a way that brings You glory and her joy.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We can hear the love and concern in your words, it is a heavy thing to watch someone dear to you long for a good marriage while the years seem to slip by. That kind of waiting, especially when it is not by choice, carries a real ache. Your niece is blessed to have family who carry her to the Father like this.

When we talk with singles in that long waiting season, many say one of the hardest parts is the pressure, whether from within themselves, from society, or from well-meaning loved ones, that whispers something is wrong if marriage has not happened yet. That pressure can quietly turn a genuine desire into a painful sense of being left behind. So one of the kindest things you can do, alongside your prayers, is simply remind your niece that her worth and her place in God's story are not on hold. A full, meaningful life does not begin only after a wedding.

What might it look like to help her invest in this present season with purpose? Perhaps that means deepening her friendships, finding a place to serve within her church family, or even sitting down together and honestly telling God about the sadness and the hope she holds, and asking Him to guard her heart while she waits. You might offer to pray with her in person, not just for her. Sometimes the sound of someone else speaking our desires back to God lifts the isolation of a long wait.

We are joining you in that now.

Lord, we bring this niece before You, a woman You know by name, whose days You have numbered. We ask for a godly spouse and a marriage that honors You, and we ask that You make the path straight. But in the waiting, we ask just as urgently that You fill her life with purpose, steady her heart with peace, and shield her from the shame or hurry that can steal joy. Give her family the words and presence that truly support her. We trust You with her story, in Jesus’ name.

Great is the mystery, is it not, that the love of a husband for his wife stands quite alone and all by itself. You do well to desire this gift for your niece. Yet let us press beyond the earthly copy to the heavenly substance. The outward marriage is a picture, a shadow, of the union between Christ and His Church. Has this girl been espoused to the heavenly Bridegroom? Does she wear the wedding garment of His righteousness? For it is a fearful thing to be found at the feast without it, and the King's eye will search every guest personally. "How camest thou in hither, not having on a wedding garment?" is a question none can answer. Seek first for her that she be arrayed in the fine linen of the saints, which is the imputed righteousness of Christ. Then, in God's time, the earthly favor may follow.

You speak of time moving swiftly and of obstacles. Hear then what it is to wait upon a waiting God. He waits to be gracious; He is exalted in mercy, and there is a final success to all His waiting when the time of love has come. Encourage your niece not to wait in the hesitating despair of the world, but to wait upon the Lord with hope, as a servant attentive to his master's will. This is brave waiting. It makes the world grow small and breeds peace within the soul. She has wealth, you say; but the soul's strength is not in the abundance of things possessed. Let her take care that she has not fallen into that evil of gadding about after secondary matters, seeking contentment in any earthly love apart from the First Love. Why does the spouse of Christ gad about so much after vanity? The Bridegroom stands with melting heart and laden hands, crying, "Admit Me to your inmost heart!"

I hear the world's pretext whispered even now: "Let the damsel wait a little while, ten days at least." But delay is dangerous. The ice may hold for an hour and then give way beneath the skater. The soul that postpones submission to God's order, whether in salvation or in the ordering of life, stands upon perilous ground. For now is the accepted time. The prince's wedding was a high honor, and the invitation was not a demand for a dowry but a summons to receive gifts freely. So it is with the gospel. The King makes a marriage for His Son, and the call goes out. To refuse it is the blackest rebellion. I plead with you: do not let your prayers for a happy wedded life obscure the far weightier matter. You ask God to remove obstacles, and I ask: may not the greatest obstacle be a heart that has never fully cast itself upon the Husband of the Church? When a man waits patiently at mercy's door, faith knows the petition is labeled in heaven and set aside in the treasury. It will be put into the hand at the appointed moment. Not a moment too soon, nor a beat too late. God's clocks keep perfect time.

Therefore, let us wait in earnest, hopeful, prayerful watching, not counting the days till the earthly glory begins, but waiting for Him. This waiting is not empty. It renews strength through the incoming of the Eternal Spirit. It mounts up with wings as eagles. Oh, that your niece might find her all in Christ first! Then, if it pleases the King, He whose love surpasses knowledge will grant the desires of her heart according to His will. He is no miserly host. His oxen and fatlings are killed; all things are ready. Pray that she may not be found speechless, without the spotless robe that is made white in the blood of the Lamb. For that is the only garment suitable for the marriage supper, whether the supper on earth or the endless feast above. My heart's cry is that she would not merely be a guest at an earthly wedding, but the bride of the King immortal, invisible, the only wise God. Then, truly, all waiting shall be swallowed up in the possession of Love Himself.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Wealth you have in abundance, yet no bridegroom appears. This is no small trial. But take care that the very riches you count as blessing do not become the obstacle. For how often does the love of money delay marriage, waiting for a larger dowry, a more splendid estate, while the soul itself grows old in empty pursuits? When the king prepared the marriage feast for his son, those bidden made light of it, one going to his farm, another to his merchandise. They clung to earthly possessions and missed the celebration. See that your niece’s household does not do the same, so occupied with wealth that they ignore the call to build a godly union.

The marriage you seek is good, and I do not hesitate to speak as a matchmaker for the sake of chastity. Yet remember, the blessing of a happy wedded life is carnal; it perishes with the age. The spiritual blessing that makes us fellow-heirs with Christ surpasses all. If you would have this marriage, first stand aloof from the greed that defiles it. Let the family hasten to arrange a match without grasping after gold, choosing rather a pure and sober youth who fears the Lord. Abraham hoped against hope when his body was dead, and Sarah’s womb barren, yet God fulfilled the promise. Do not fix your eyes on the obstacles, but on God’s power.

The delay may be a purifying fire. Jacob spent his days in servitude and trial, while Esau lived in ease; yet the true blessing belonged to Jacob, not in this world but in the one to come. So too, your niece’s season of waiting can be a school of humility and reliance on God. Pray indeed that the hindrances be removed, but first examine whether any of those hindrances are anchored in your own attachment to worldly status. For many, though they cry “Lord, Lord,” remain entangled in the very things they should forsake. Let her prepare her soul to be a worthy bride, adorning herself with modesty and good works, not with costly display. Then, whether God grants this marriage soon or late, she will possess the blessing that cannot be taken away.

It is easy to feel as if time is slipping away, especially when we see others moving forward while a cherished niece remains unmarried. The wealth you mention reminds me that no amount of earthly resources can force open doors only the Lord controls. Sometimes God allows us to reach the end of our own ability so that we are crowded straight to Jesus, the only one who can truly help.

I think of that father whose only daughter lay dying. He had nowhere else to turn. Even when Jesus delayed and the child died, the Lord was not late. He walked into that home, took her by the hand, and restored her life. What looked like an impossible ending became a stage for his power. Your niece’s situation may feel similar: time is passing, obstacles seem immovable, but God is able to lift them in a single moment.

Wealth often creates an illusion of security, yet her deepest need cannot be bought. A spouse is a gift from the Lord, not a transaction. The Scriptures do not hide the real lives of those who trusted God for marriage. Ruth had nothing but loyalty and a handful of grain, and God brought her Boaz to redeem her story. The path was not straight, but it was perfectly timed. Your niece is not forgotten. The same God who watches over the sparrows knows her desire.

Do not let the delay convince you that heaven is indifferent. Trust, like a child who simply believes a father wants to bless them. Our own boasts and anxieties add nothing; what matters is a heart that rests in his love. Pray and keep praying, but also release her fully into his hands. He may remove obstacles we cannot see, or he may reshape her desires in ways that reveal a greater plan.

Let us pray together:

Father, we come before you as those who have nothing except what you give. Look with grace upon this niece. You know every obstacle, every closed door, every hidden fear. We ask you to clear the path in your perfect timing and lead her to a marriage that honors you. Give her patience and peace as she waits, and let her trust not in wealth or circumstance but in your faithful love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Finally, hold this truth gently: marriage is a precious gift for this life, but our ultimate hope is not in an earthly wedding. The day will come when we stand before the Lord, and no one will be given in marriage, for we will be like the angels in the resurrection. That does not diminish her longing now, but it anchors it in eternity. God sees, he cares, and he will do what is best.
