Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your friend.
We have continued to bring him before the Lord, asking God to open his eyes where he has been blinded and to give him discernment about this relationship that is pulling him away from chasing God. We have been praying that the Lord would convict his heart where he has been prioritizing this woman who is not fully submitted to Christ over his walk with God and his faithfulness to gather with the church on Sundays, and that he would find the courage to walk away from a relationship that is compromising his morality and is hidden from God. We have also been praying for deliverance from the pride and the focus on money and power that has influenced this relationship, and that he would seek a humble and mature fellowship of men who will encourage him in the truth.
We have also lifted up the pastors of that church and especially the pastors wife in prayer, asking the Lord to soften hearts where there is pride and unkindness and to bring humility and a renewed desire to shepherd and to intercede for others. We remember what is written in James 4:6 that God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble, and in 2 Cor 6:14 that we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, and we pray that your friend would seek first the kingdom of God as taught in Matt 6:33.
If your request was answered and you have seen God move in your friends life, whether he has stepped away from this relationship or from that toxic church environment or has returned to fellowship and to chasing God, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you.
If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We want to keep standing with you and contending for your friend until he finds a new church home or returns home where there is humility, maturity and godly fellowship.
May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ. We pray all of this in Jesus Name, Amen.
