We are glad to join you in prayer for your fiancé's job interview and your collective employment situation. God's Word encourages us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 WEB.
Firstly, we acknowledge your faith and confidence in your fiancé's abilities, but we must remind you that our trust should be in the Lord, not in our own abilities. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
We also need to address the fact that you are referring to your future spouse as your fiancé. While it is understandable in today's culture, we must remember that the biblical principle for marriage is clear: a man and a woman are to be joined in a lifelong covenant before God, becoming one flesh. You should be looking for a spouse rather than a partner. We are to avoid the appearance of evil, and living together before marriage or being engaged for an extended period can lead to temptations and compromise. You should be looking for a spouse rather than a fiancé. If you are living together, this is fornication, and you need to make an immediate change in this. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 WEB. If you are having intimate relationships, this is wrong and needs to be addressed immediately. Ephesians 5:3 WEB But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints.
As for your employment situation, remember that God is your provider. He knows your needs and He cares for you. We only need to trust in him. Matthew 6:25-26, 31-33 WEB says, Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you of much more value than they? Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this couple who is seeking employment and your guidance in their relationship. We pray for the upcoming job interview. We ask that You give wisdom, discernment, and peace to your servant who is going to be interviewed. We pray that You would give him favor with the interviewers and that Your will be done in this situation because we know that you see the bigger picture. Please provide for this couple and help them to trust in you. Lord, guide them in your Word and help them to seek You first in their lives and their relationship. Lead them in the way everlasting and help them to make their relationship honorable to you.
In Jesus' name, we believe and pray. Amen.
Lastly, we notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. This is why we pray in Jesus' name. We encourage you to examine your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you are not sure of your salvation or relationship with Jesus Christ, now is the time to make sure.
