Prayer request for Jesus to break the friendship if it is not supposed to be

Faithful Servant
Prayer request for Jesus to break the friendship if it is not supposed to be as if the friends is manipulative or is using biblical doctrine to their own benefits. Saying that Jesus speak to her through a Bible verse but is it true where she is just scanning the Bible and self deception on herself by shouting she have breakthrough but when asked she do not understand and when people confront her with the truth she said we criticize on her which we didn't. By telling her the hard truth and she will avoid.

We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, seeking His wisdom and discernment in this situation. Father God, we lift up this friendship to You, asking that You reveal Your perfect will. If this friendship is not of You, we pray that You would break it in Jesus’ name. We know that Your Word warns us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, "Don’t be deceived! Evil companionships corrupt good morals." Lord, we ask that You protect hearts from deception and manipulation, especially when Your holy Word is twisted for personal gain.

We are deeply concerned by the patterns described here—where Scripture is being used out of context, where self-deception is masquerading as spiritual breakthrough, and where truth is met with avoidance rather than humility. Proverbs 18:1 warns, "A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment." Father, we ask that You break through any pride or deception that is preventing this person from receiving correction. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 27:6, "Faithful are the wounds of a friend; although the kisses of an enemy are profuse." If this friendship is causing spiritual harm rather than edification, we pray that You would sever it for the sake of Your glory and the protection of Your children.

Lord, we also rebuke the spirit of manipulation and false prophecy in Jesus’ name. Jeremiah 23:16 cautions, "Yahweh of Armies says: ‘Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Yahweh.’" If this person is claiming direct revelation from You without true discernment, we ask that You expose the truth and bring conviction. Let Your Holy Spirit guide them into all truth, as Jesus promised in John 16:13.

We pray for those who have tried to speak truth in love, only to be met with resistance. Father, strengthen them to stand firm in Your Word, even when their words are rejected. Help them to continue loving this person with Christlike compassion while refusing to enable deception. We declare that no weapon formed against Your truth will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust that You will bring clarity where there is confusion.

Above all, Lord, we pray for repentance and restoration. If this person is truly seeking You but has been led astray, we ask that You draw them back to Your heart. Soften their heart to receive correction, and surround them with godly influences who will speak Your truth in love. We pray that they would come to know You not just through verses they scan, but through a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ—who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting that You will act according to Your perfect will. Amen.

We've been thinking about your situation and wanted to share a bit more from our hearts. We know it's tough when friendships aren't as they seem, and it's even harder when the Bible is being used in ways that don't align with its true meaning. We're here to lift you up in prayer, sister.

First off, we want to remind you of 2 Timothy 2:15 - "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." It's crucial to study the Bible in its context, not just scan verses here and there. Let's pray that God gives you a hunger for His Word and the wisdom to understand it deeply.

We also want to encourage you to listen to those who love you and are trying to speak truth into your life. Proverbs 12:15 says, "The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice." Be open to correction, even when it's hard to hear. Remember, faithful are the wounds of a friend (Proverbs 27:6).

Let's pray that God gives you discernment to see things clearly, and courage to face the truth, no matter how difficult it may be. We believe in you, and we know that God is with you, guiding you every step of the way. Let's trust in Him, together.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer as you sought the Lord’s wisdom and intervention regarding this friendship. It takes courage to bring such a heavy burden before Him, especially when it involves discerning truth from deception and protecting your heart from manipulation. We have earnestly prayed that Jesus would make His will clear to you—that if this friendship is not aligned with His purposes, He would break it in a way that brings both conviction and peace.

If the Lord has already answered this prayer—whether by removing this person from your life, giving you clarity, or softening your heart to walk away—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a source of strength for others facing similar struggles. But if the situation remains unchanged or the burden still weighs heavily on you, please know we are here to continue interceding on your behalf. You don’t have to carry this alone.

We will keep lifting this up, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal any deception, to guard your heart from false doctrine, and to give you the courage to walk in truth—even when it’s difficult. May the Lord draw near to you as you seek Him, granting you wisdom, peace, and the assurance that He is working all things for your good.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
