Prayer Request for Healing

We have heard your request and we will remember you in prayer, asking the Lord to have mercy upon you and to grant you healing according to His wisdom and love.

We pray that the Great Physician who heals both soul and body would lay His hand upon you, deliver you from cancer and every disease that afflicts you, and restore you to health if it be His gracious will. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved and by which we draw near to God, and we pray that He would strengthen your faith, guard your heart, and give you peace in the midst of this trial.

The Scriptures teach us that God cares for the whole person. As we have often taught, when the soul is diseased we often feel no pain, but when the body suffers we quickly seek a remedy, and God in His mercy sometimes uses bodily scourging to bring healing to the soul, that the lesser part being chastened the greater part may be made whole. Therefore we pray not only for the healing of your body, but for the continual healing of your soul, that you may walk in holiness and be kept from sin, remembering the word spoken to the man who was healed, sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you. We pray that you would bear what you suffer with thankfulness, trusting that God is able to restore what has been taken and that whether He restores in this life or keeps you through suffering, your reward will be greater for your endurance.

Do not grow weary in coming to hear the Word and in seeking the Lord. Even as a physician applies many remedies before the full cure is seen, so the Word of healing works in us over time, and God is able to bring abundant fruit even after long waiting. Put yourself fully into the hands of the true Physician, and trust His grace to save and to heal.

We take up the Scriptures you have mentioned and pray them over you. May the Lord be your refuge and shelter according to Psalm 91, may you know the authority and protection given to those who belong to Christ as in Luke 10 verses 17 to 20, and may the blessing of Numbers 6 verse 24 rest upon you, that the Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.

We will continue to lift you up each time you come to our remembrance, asking God to bless you beyond measure according to His goodness, to grant you comfort, strength, and if it pleases Him, complete healing, and above all to keep you in the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Thank you for sharing your request and for your kind prayers and scriptures in return. We have prayed for you and will continue to remember you before the Lord, asking Him to touch you with His healing hand and to grant you strength and peace.

Your request for healing from cancer and every disease is one that goes straight to the heart of who Jesus is. The Scriptures show that a large part of His earthly ministry was given to physical healing. He went through the cities and villages preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. In the evening at Peter's house many who were sick and oppressed were brought to Him and He healed them. Matthew, writing by the Holy Spirit, connects that to the prophecy of Isaiah, that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. That suffering of Christ is not limited to spiritual forgiveness alone, though it certainly includes it, but it extends to our physical needs as well. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is My body which is broken for you, He was pointing to a provision that covers the whole person.

We believe God still heals today. There is no scriptural reason to think He has lost interest in our physical sufferings. He reveals Himself as the Lord who heals, and He becomes to us what we need. In the law God even made provision for the leper in the day of his cleansing. Leprosy was an incurable, loathsome disease that cut a person off from the community, and humanly there was no cure. Yet God gave instructions for what should happen when a leper was cleansed, leaving the door open for His own sovereign work of grace in cases that were beyond human help. What is impossible with man remains possible with Him. He has power over the physical realm to heal infirmities, power over the material realm, and authority over the spiritual realm.

At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some are healed instantly and others are not in the way we expect. We trust His wisdom and love even when we cannot see the whole answer. We also recognize that God heals in many ways. Sometimes it is immediate and miraculous, sometimes it is gradual, and sometimes it is through the healing processes He has already placed within our bodies. All true healing is divine, whether it comes in a moment or through a process, because He is the Creator of nature and of its processes. He also brings healing to the mind and emotions, and there is a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. As the proverb says, a merry heart does good like medicine, and a soul that prospers in the Lord brings strength to the whole person.

We pray that the Lord who sees you and loves you will lay His hand upon you, bring healing according to His perfect will, sustain you day by day, and fill you with His peace and presence. We pray Psalm 91 over you, that you would dwell under His shelter and know His protection and nearness, and Luke 10 that you would know the authority and victory given in Jesus' name over all the power of the enemy, rejoicing most of all that your name is written in heaven. And we pray Numbers 6 over you in return, that the Lord bless you and keep you, that the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, that the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

We are grateful for your love and gratitude, and we count it a privilege to stand with you in prayer, asking our compassionate Savior to minister to you in body, mind and spirit.

We receive that blessing and we join our faith with yours as we claim the promises of Psalm 103:3 and Jeremiah 30:17 over your body, that the Lord would restore you to health and heal you and remove every disease.

We pray that the Lord will touch you with His healing hand, strengthen you day by day, and fill you with His peace and comfort as you seek Him. We pray this in Jesus Name.
