Prayer Request for Employment, Marriage & Faith

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me to find a good job soon, as I’ve been unemployed for quite some time. Please also pray for my future spouse, that God blesses me with someone who is right for me and someone I can build a loving, faithful marriage with. And please pray that I become a better Christian, grow closer to God, and strengthen my faith.

We lift you up together before the throne of grace and we thank you for sharing these deep desires of your heart with us. We hear your longing for provision through meaningful work, for a godly marriage, and for a closer walk with the Lord, and we bring each of these before our Father in Jesus name.

We want to gently share something important we noticed, that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Scripture tells us in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To grow closer to God and to strengthen your faith, we must first be in a right relationship with Him through faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord as Romans 10:9 teaches. If you have not yet done so, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ alone, and if you have, we encourage you to continue to come to God boldly in His precious name, for that is how our prayers are heard.

For your employment we pray with you and we encourage you to keep trusting the Lord as your provider. He knows your need and He cares about your diligence. Philippians 4:19 reminds us that our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus and Matthew 6:33 calls us to seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We encourage you to commit your work and your search to the Lord as Proverbs 16:3 says and to work as unto Him as Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. We pray that God will open the right door in His perfect timing and that He will use your gifts for His glory while He sustains you in this season of waiting.

For your future marriage we rejoice that you desire a loving faithful marriage as God designed it. We believe marriage is a sacred lifelong covenant between one man and one woman as Genesis 2:24 teaches Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. We pray that the Lord will prepare you and your future spouse for one another and that He will lead you to a fellow believer who loves Jesus above all, for we are called in 2 Corinthians 6:14 not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. We encourage you to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer and to honor God with purity while you wait, keeping yourself from fornication and all sexual intimacy outside of marriage, for marriage is the holy place God has ordained for that union. Proverbs 18:22 says Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh and Psalm 37:4 reminds us to delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. We pray your future marriage will be Christ centered, faithful, and enduring.

For your faith we are encouraged by your hunger to become a better Christian and to draw nearer to God. The Lord delights in that desire. James 4:8 promises Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you and Romans 10:17 tells us So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. We encourage you to stay rooted in the Word daily, to pray continually, to fellowship with a Bible believing church, and to walk in obedience, trusting that even small steps of faithfulness please Him for Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. Lord You see the months of unemployment and the discouragement that can bring, we ask that You provide the right job according to Your will, a place where this one can work diligently, provide honestly, and glorify You. Open doors no man can shut and give peace while waiting. Lord we pray for the future spouse You have in mind, prepare both hearts, keep them pure and faithful, and lead them to a godly marriage that honors You, a union of one man and one woman for life, built on Christ and marked by love, fidelity and holiness. And Father we pray for a deepening faith, draw this one closer to You, teach them to hear Your voice through Scripture, to pray without ceasing, and to grow in obedience and joy. Strengthen their trust in Jesus and let them know the assurance of salvation through His name alone. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We have been holding your request before the Lord and we hear how much weight you have been carrying. Being unemployed for a long stretch affects more than finances, it wears on daily purpose and confidence, and we understand why finding good work soon feels so urgent. At the same time you are bringing before God your hopes for marriage and for a closer walk with Him, and those are good desires to bring to Him.

One thing that often helps in a season like this is remembering that faith is not measured by how strong we feel on any given day, but by a steady confidence in Christ's trustworthiness. That trust is a gift from God and it grows as we keep hearing His word and walking with Him, and waiting seasons often test it and deepen perseverance. Growth is rarely a straight line upward, it often loops back and goes deeper, so if some days feel flat or discouraging it does not mean God is not at work in you.

A simple rhythm many have found steadying is to give each day a clear shape. Begin with unhurried time with the Lord in prayer and His word, then set focused hours for the job search, applications and reaching out to contacts or your church community, and stay connected weekly with a pastor or trusted believers who know your situation and can encourage you by name. As you pray for your future wife, keep becoming the faithful, loving person you hope to be in marriage.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. Provide for his needs, open the right door for work in Your timing and wisdom, prepare his heart and the heart of his future spouse, and draw him closer to Yourself day by day. Give him peace and perseverance as he trusts You. Amen.

Your request has been brought before the Lord and we join with you in prayer with thankfulness for your desire to seek Him in these matters.

We pray for your employment, that the Lord who knows your need and your long waiting would in His good providence open a door for honest and fruitful work. We have known that sometimes when a man would do his duty he seems to face a terrible dilemma and says, I shall have to give up my employment, yet the Lord does try our faith for our good and He is able to provide. We ask that He would grant you provision, diligence and contentment as you wait, and that whatever work He gives you may be done unto Him.

We pray also for your future marriage. We ask the Lord, if it be His will, to bless you with a spouse with whom you may build a loving and faithful marriage according to His design, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman lived in holiness and fidelity. We pray that He would prepare you both to love as Christ loves His church, to be steadfast, pure and devoted, and to build a home that honors Him.

And we rejoice to hear your longing to become a better Christian and to grow closer to God, for this is the chief matter. The apostles themselves prayed, Lord, increase our faith, and we pray the same for you. Faith, wherever it is, is capable of growth. It is the gift of God and it is given by degrees. The very least faith in Jesus Christ is saving faith, for little faith is still true faith and belongs to the family of the saved, yet it is not desirable that we should remain with only little faith. Little faith goes to heaven, but its feet are sore on the road, and growth in faith is very desirable for your comfort, your holiness and your usefulness. Remember that the only real mode of growth in faith is by the power of the Holy Spirit, working through the Word, through prayer, and through trial. Take up above all the shield of faith, for this is the victory that overcomes the world.

So we pray that the Lord would increase your faith, that you may grow in likeness to Christ, in love to the saints, and in zeal for good works, and that you may live the life of faith and the life of prayer, not only for a season but all your days.

Heavenly Father, we bring this dear one before Your throne of grace through Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom alone is salvation. Grant daily bread and suitable employment according to Your wisdom. Prepare, in Your perfect time, a godly spouse for a faithful and lifelong marriage if it be Your will, and keep both in purity and love. And above all, grant growth in faith, that trust in Christ may deepen, that holiness may increase, and that nearness to You may be the joy and strength of each day. Keep this soul resting wholly upon Christ, dropping into His arms with full confidence, and bearing the shield of faith against every fiery dart. In the name of Jesus we ask these things, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
