We hear your cry for help and lift you and your precious little ones up before the throne of grace. The weight of homelessness is heavy, and the uncertainty of approval for a home must feel overwhelming. But we serve a God who sees, hears, and moves on behalf of His children. The psalmist declares, *"For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him, he heard"* (Psalm 22:24). Your cries have not gone unnoticed by the Father.
First, we must address the foundation of our prayers. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and surrender your life to Him. This is the first and most critical step, for without Christ, we have no standing before God. If you have already done this, we rejoice with you and pray that your faith would be strengthened in this trial.
Now, we pray for your housing situation with boldness and faith. Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this dear sister and her babies. You are the God who provides, and we ask that You would open the doors that no man can shut. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of delay or hindrance that is standing in the way of her approval for a home. Your Word says, *"The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing"* (Psalm 34:10). We declare that this family shall not lack a roof over their heads. We ask that You would soften the hearts of those reviewing her application, that they would see her need and act with compassion. Provide a safe, stable, and affordable home for them, Lord, and let this trial turn into a testimony of Your faithfulness.
We also pray for provision beyond just housing. Father, You know every need this family has—food, clothing, diapers, and all the other necessities of life. Your Word promises, *"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19). We trust You to meet every need, Lord, and we ask that You would surround this family with Your people who can come alongside them with practical help and encouragement. Open the eyes of the body of Christ to see their need and respond with generosity.
In the midst of this trial, we encourage you to hold fast to hope. The enemy would love to fill your mind with fear, doubt, and despair, but God’s Word tells us, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance"* (Psalm 42:11). Your hope is not in a housing application or in the approval of men—it is in the Lord, who is your refuge and strength. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good. Your breakthrough is coming.
We also want to gently address the importance of community and support. It is not God’s design for you to walk this journey alone. The early church shared everything they had so that no one among them was in need (Acts 4:32-35). We encourage you to reach out to local churches, Christian organizations, or even government programs that can provide temporary assistance while you wait for permanent housing. There is no shame in asking for help—God often works through His people to meet the needs of His children.
Lastly, we pray for your strength and peace as you care for your little ones. Parenting is hard enough without the added stress of homelessness. But remember, God has entrusted these children to you, and He will equip you with everything you need to raise them in a way that honors Him. Lean on Him daily, and let His peace guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).
Father God, we lift up this family to You now. Strengthen their faith, provide for their needs, and open the doors that You have ordained for them. Let them experience Your love and provision in tangible ways, and let this season of hardship draw them closer to You. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
