Prayer request for a man that got out of jail

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Prayer request for a man that got out of jail. His girlfriend that is a drug dealer took him out from jail with bail money she gets from drug dealing. She picks up drugs from ###, ### and drives clients in a van then takes the drugs to the ###. Him being in jail was keeping him sober. Pray for him and his choice of circle of friends because he's hanging out with people that use to give him drugs again. He was around his ### kids at first then his son told him he's a disappointment and his daughters chased him off with his son because their step dad don't want him around his kids. Please pray for him he's been mistreated by the tribal women badly. His kids mom stole ### from his ### and took his kids, made him pay child support, made him not sure what else but now he's with a different lady that's a drug dealer that has been married ### times. He needs urgent prayer by godly men's. His dad doesn't give him good advice but tells him to remarry.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this man who has recently been released from jail. Father God, we know that Your Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." We pray that this man would experience this transformation in his life, that he would turn away from the sinful patterns that have kept him bound and find true freedom in You.

Lord, we see the dangerous path he is walking, surrounded by those who would lead him back into addiction and destruction. The girlfriend who bailed him out is involved in drug dealing, and we know that Proverbs 13:20 warns, "One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." We rebuke the influence of this woman and all those who would draw him back into sin. We pray that You would remove these ungodly influences from his life and surround him instead with men of faith who will speak truth and life into him.

We also lift up his children, Lord. It grieves us to hear that they have been turned against him, and we pray that You would soften their hearts. Ephesians 6:4 reminds fathers, "Don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." We ask that You would restore this relationship in a way that honors You, and that he would have the opportunity to be the father You have called him to be.

Father, we know that the enemy seeks to destroy lives through addiction, broken relationships, and despair. But we declare that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We pray that this man would come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, if he has not already. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that true freedom and redemption are found. We ask that You would break the chains of addiction, restore his family, and lead him to a community of believers who will walk with him in faith.

We also rebuke the sin of fornication in his life. He is not married to this woman, and Scripture is clear that sexual immorality is a sin against God (1 Corinthians 6:18). We pray that he would flee from this temptation and seek a godly spouse who will encourage him in his walk with You.

Lord, we ask that You would provide godly men to mentor and guide him. Proverbs 27:17 says, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance." We pray that he would find men who will hold him accountable, pray for him, and show him the love of Christ.

Finally, we pray for his heart to be healed from the pain of betrayal and mistreatment. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We ask that You would bind up his wounds, restore his hope, and lead him into a future that glorifies You.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We are praying with you for this man, and our hearts are heavy with the picture you’ve painted. Jail, for all its hardship, became a place of forced sobriety and a pause from old harm. Now that he’s out, the circumstances around him feel terrifyingly familiar, a bond paid by drug money, a partner whose life is tangled in the very things that almost destroyed him, and the sting of his kids turning their backs. That kind of rejection hits deep and can make someone vulnerable to any comfort, even the kind that destroys.

You mentioned the urgent need for godly men to pray. We are doing that now, but he also needs those men around him in the flesh. A practical step that could make a real difference is for him to connect with a recovery group where men who understand addiction can walk with him. A local Celebrate Recovery, a church men’s ministry, or even a single solid mentor could be a lifeline. Right now, the voices closest to him are leading him away from the health he found inside; he needs steady, wise brothers who will pray with him and hold him accountable without shaming him.

It’s not for us to lecture, but we do ask the Lord to give this man clear sight to recognize what leads to death and what leads to life. We also lift up the pain with his children, those words of rejection must echo loudly. We pray God would guard him from bitter retaliation and instead give him patience, and that in time those relationships might see healing.

Lord Jesus, we bring this man before Your throne. You saw him in jail and kept him sober; now, in freedom, be his shield. Send men of integrity to stand beside him, men who will speak truth and offer steady friendship. Give him the courage to turn away from what pulls him back, even when it feels like all he has. Protect his body and mind from the grip of addiction, and quiet the voices of shame with Your love. Soften the hearts of his children in Your timing, and break any cycle of pain that has hounded him. In Your name we pray, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, deliver, heal, save (those not saved) and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The snare of the fowler is upon you, and evil company has spread its net for your soul. That woman who plies the trade of death, who spends the wages of iniquity to buy your liberty, is no friend but your destroyer. What fellowship has light with darkness? How can you, who have been kept sober behind bars, run again into the very house of your former bondage? Flee from her, for the path she walks goes down to the chambers of hell. Your prison cell kept you from the poison, but now you seem eager to drink it anew.

Your own dear children have shamed you, and the sting of their words is sharp, yet let that sorrow drive you to your knees, not back to the vomit of your old companions. A father’s heart can break, but a father’s repentance might yet win his offspring. Their rejection is bitter, but the Lord’s chastenings are often the pruning knife that prepares a branch for fruit. Do not answer their disappointment with your own folly; rather, let it rouse you to seek a righteousness that is not your own.

You speak of tribal women who have mistreated you, of a father who gives counsel that would seal your ruin, his word to remarry while you sit loose to Christ is the whisper of a deceiver. Oh that you had a godly man to speak into your ear! Cry out to the Most High to send you a Nathan, a Barnabas. And do not rest content without the company of those who fear the Lord. A man who would be saved must be willing to be severed from the ungodly, and to cleave to the saints, however low they seem in the world’s esteem.

Yet let none say, “I am too bad to be saved.” That is a bad excuse, for the Gospel calls the vilest, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin. If you trust Him, He will not only pardon but also change your heart, and give you the mastery over those evil thoughts and habits which now lodge within you like bad tenants breaking every pane of your peace. But you must give them notice to quit this very hour, no truce, no delay. He that would be rid of the old leaven must begin at once. Do not flatter yourself with good resolutions that vanish when the next temptation comes; the only sure path is to fly to Christ, and to flee also from the scenes of former sin.

Let your time of pleasure become a time of prayer; let the memory of your children’s tears be a funeral knell that rings you to your closet. Rise up, join yourself to the people of God, and break off from the traffic of the wicked. If you cannot bring your Master into the company you keep, then keep no more of it. God in his great patience still reasons with you, even as He did with Cain when his countenance fell. Do not answer him with a hard heart. There is hope for the worst of men, but that hope lies only in a clean break with the world, the flesh, and the devil, and in a whole-hearted casting of your soul upon the finished work of the Lord Jesus. May the Spirit of God lay hold upon you, and make you a trophy of grace, that your children may yet see a new creature where once they saw only a disappointment.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The man who came out of jail was kept sober by his bonds, but now the bonds are loosed and the old companions gather. What then? Is the prison to be his only guardian, and will he throw away this brief reprieve by running back to the very pit from which he was pulled? The woman who paid his bail is a dealer of destruction; her money is blood money, the wages of souls she drugs and ruins. She drives a van of death, and he sits beside her. This is no deliverance but a deeper snare. If he stays in this circle, the demons who fled for a little season will return with seven others, and his last state will be worse than the first.

His own children have driven him away, and that wound is deep. But let him consider: why did they call him a disappointment? Because they saw a man enslaved, not free. The stepfather bars the door, but God can make children out of stones. Has he not read that from the hardened womb of Sarah and the deadness of Abraham’s body, God raised up a nation? If this man will turn in repentance and prove himself a father in godliness, the hearts of his children may yet be turned. But if he marries this woman who has been married three times already, he will bind himself to a burning fire and his own house will become a den of serpents. His earthly father gives wicked counsel, saying “remarry” as if a new wife could fix a rotting soul. That is the blind leading the blind.

Now is the hour of testing. Will he follow the Israelites who perished in the wilderness through unbelief, or will he lay hold of the promise? God has called him to a dignity higher than the sun: not to wallow with swine, but to stand where angels stand. Yet this calling demands a violent break. Let him flee the harlot and her van, cut off the companions who hand him the poison, and seek out godly men who will gird him with the shield of true friendship, friendship rooted not in neighborhood or old acquaintance, but in the fear of God. Do not say it is too hard. Christ Himself was tempted in the flesh and knows what human nature suffers. He stretches out His hand to pull him from the mire.

If he delays, the example of unbelief will swallow him. Let him not think that after a little dallying he will repent later; how many have been snatched away while plotting their reformation? Let him consider the harlot’s ornaments, the painted face, the braided hair, and see the hooks beneath. Accustom his eyes to love chastity, humility, soberness, the ornaments that no drug dealer can wear. These will make him fair in the sight of God and restore honor to his name.

You who pray for him, do not merely utter words. Seek out a band of sober, faithful men to confront him, to surround him, to be the body of Christ pulling him from the flames. If you are silent or idle, his blood will be on your hands. But if you warn him and he refuses, you have delivered your soul. Yet hope, even now, if he will arise and go to the Father, the door is open. But he must go now, today, before the van arrives again and the old cords tighten. Let him labor to enter that rest, lest he fall after the same example of unbelief.

This is a heavy burden, and I am grateful you brought it forward. The situation reveals how deep the enemy’s grip can become, but it is not beyond the reach of God’s grace. The time in jail, though hard, kept this man sober and temporarily removed him from the very people who are now pulling him back toward destruction. Now, the influence around him is devastating. A woman who deals drugs, using money that comes from destroying others, has paid his bail. The old circle of friends is drawing him back into the same sins. Even his own father is offering counsel that runs directly against God’s wisdom. And the rejection from his children, though painful, may be one of God’s ways of showing him the bitter fruit of the life he has been living.

Our Lord made it plain that love for him must exceed every earthly tie, father, mother, children, and even one’s own life. Following Jesus often costs family relationships, but it also brings a person into a far deeper family, the household of faith, where the bonds are eternal. Pray that this man comes to see that his worth and his direction cannot be found in the approval of his children or in the advice of his dad, but only in surrendering to the Father who waits for him like the prodigal’s father. The prodigal had squandered everything, was hungry, and felt unworthy, yet when he returned, the father ran to him, put the family ring on his finger and shoes on his feet, the signs of sonship, not slavery. That same restoration waits for this man, but he must turn his back on the pigpen he is in.

The woman he is with is a corrupting influence, much like Jezebel or Athaliah, who led men into wickedness. Her trade, her multiple marriages, and her lifestyle are not merely “bad choices”; they are an open door to spiritual death. If he stays yoked to her, she will drag him into a moral pit from which escape becomes even harder. Addiction itself destroys a person’s ability to resist, stripping away defenses until captivity is complete. He needs more than a changed address; he needs a changed heart.

That requires more than regret. There is a worldly sorrow that only mourns consequences, like getting caught or losing family, and that sorrow leads nowhere but death. Godly sorrow, however, produces repentance that transforms. It creates a carefulness, a clearing of oneself, a holy indignation against sin. Peter wept bitterly after denying Jesus, but that sorrow turned him back and made him a pillar of the church. Judas also felt remorse, but he did not turn to the Lord, and it destroyed him. Pray that this man is given godly grief that drives him to true change, not just temporary remorse.

His earthly father is telling him to remarry, but that counsel would only multiply his troubles. What he needs is the influence of godly men, men filled with the Spirit who will speak truth in love, walk alongside him, and show him a life of sobriety, purity, and purpose in Christ. The church is meant to be that new family, where ties run deeper than blood. His own children may have pushed him away, and that wound is real, but the body of Christ can surround him with love that points him to his true Father.

I am joining you in urgent prayer: that God would break the hold of ungodly companions, open his eyes to see the yawning destruction ahead, and draw him by the cords of kindness. May the Father who watches for the wayward son grant him the courage to leave everything that binds him and run home. And may the Holy Spirit already be raising up faithful brothers who will not flatter him but will guide him into the freedom only Jesus can give.
