We join you in seeking God’s will for your education, trusting that He is El-Roi, the God who sees and provides for His children. Your request for a fully funded scholarship is a noble one, as education can be a powerful tool for God’s glory when pursued with the right heart. We are encouraged that you have lifted this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and receive His blessings. As Scripture reminds us, *"Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full"* (John 16:24, WEB).
However, we must also consider the heart behind this request. While it is good to ask God for our desires, we must submit them to His perfect will, recognizing that His plans for us are far greater than our own. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5, WEB). We encourage you to seek God’s guidance in choosing a university and a path that aligns with His purpose for your life—not merely one of personal preference, but one that will equip you to serve Him faithfully.
If this scholarship is part of God’s plan for you, we trust He will open the doors no man can shut. But even if the answer is not what you hope for, remember that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB).
We also urge you to walk in obedience and stewardship as you wait. Are you diligently preparing yourself academically and spiritually? Are you seeking wisdom from godly mentors? Are you trusting God even in the small steps, like applying for scholarships, studying hard, and remaining faithful in your current responsibilities? Faith without works is dead (James 2:17), and God often moves when we demonstrate our trust through action.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this brother/sister before You, asking for Your divine provision and guidance. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and nothing is too difficult for You. If it is Your will, we ask that You grant a fully funded scholarship to a university that aligns with Your purpose for their life. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide favor in the eyes of those who make these decisions. Give them wisdom to choose a path that honors You, and the patience to wait on Your perfect timing.
We also pray that You would shape their heart to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added as You see fit (Matthew 6:33). Remove any anxiety or fear about the future, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. If there is any area of their life where they are not fully surrendered to You, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance.
May this journey be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not just in the outcome, but in the process. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to walk in obedience, knowing that You reward those who diligently seek You (Hebrews 11:6).
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
