Prayer request against ###'s fear

We come before the Lord with hearts burdened for this brother, who is battling a spirit of fear. Fear is not from God, for we are told in **2 Timothy 1:7**, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* This is a promise we cling to, knowing that the Lord has equipped us with everything we need to stand firm against the enemy’s attacks.
Fear is a tool of the enemy to paralyze, distract, and weaken our faith. But we serve a God who is greater than any fear, any anxiety, and any scheme of the devil. **1 John 4:18** reminds us, *"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love."* Our Heavenly Father loves this brother perfectly, and His love is the antidote to the fear that seeks to grip his mind.
We also recall the words of Jesus in **Matthew 10:28**, *"Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna."* Our fear should be reserved for the Lord alone, in reverence and awe, not for the temporary struggles of this world. The fear of man, circumstances, or even spiritual attacks must bow before the sovereignty of Christ.
Brother, if you are reading this, we urge you to meditate on **Psalm 56:3-4**, which says, *"When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?"* Your trust must be placed fully in the Lord, not in your own strength or understanding. He is your shield, your fortress, and your deliverer.
We also encourage you to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, as **2 Corinthians 10:5** commands. Fear often begins in the mind, but we have the authority in Jesus to reject those thoughts and replace them with the truth of God’s Word. Speak Scripture over yourself. Declare the promises of God aloud. The enemy flees at the name of Jesus, so use it boldly!
Now, let us pray together for this brother:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is battling a spirit of fear. Lord, You have not given him this spirit, so we rebuked it now in Jesus’ name. We command every demonic stronghold of fear, anxiety, and torment to be broken and cast out by the power of the Holy Spirit. Father, fill him with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:7**).
Lord, we ask that You renew his mind with Your Word. Let him meditate on Your promises day and night, so that his faith may grow stronger than his fears. Remind him that You are with him always, even to the end of the age (**Matthew 28:20**), and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**). Give him the courage to stand firm, knowing that the battle is Yours, and the victory has already been won through Christ.
We pray that he will not be conformed to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of his mind (**Romans 12:2**). Let him walk in the authority You have given him as a child of God, knowing that greater is He who is in him than he who is in the world (**1 John 4:4**). Father, surround him with Your angels, encamp them around him (**Psalm 34:7**), and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust that You are working all things together for his good and Your glory (**Romans 8:28**). Strengthen him, Lord, and let him rise up in faith, declaring Your victory over his life. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

If there is unconfessed sin in your life, repent and turn to Jesus, for He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (**1 John 1:9**). Fear cannot coexist with a heart that is fully surrendered to Christ.
Stand firm, knowing that you are not alone. We are praying with you, and the Lord is fighting for you. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (**Joshua 1:9**).
