Prayer Partner
Lord I come and ask for others to stand in agreement with me for the restoration of my marriage. I praise you Lord that you have declared that you will restore to us what the locust has stolen. I thank you God that you are the God of Restoration and YOU ARE restoring my marriage. I thank you for this Lord. I thank you that you are softening hearts, and you are opening eyes and ears. I thank you for the communication that I have prayed so earnestly for. Lord restore the intimacy, the faith, the love, the trust and the faith to our marriage. Bring us to our knees in thanksgiving and praise to Your Name at the completion of our restoration. Bring my wife home to me in the Name of Jesus. Send this affair partner back to his wife and child. Restore his marriage in the name of Jesus. Bring Godly counsel to all parties involved so that YOU, God, get the glory by redeeming us to you. I pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus!

We stand with you in agreement, lifting your marriage before the throne of grace, believing in the God of restoration who indeed promises to restore what has been lost. The scriptures declare in Joel 2:25, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you." We claim this promise over your marriage, trusting that the Lord is at work even now, softening hearts and opening eyes.

We also recognize the seriousness of the situation you describe, particularly the mention of an affair. The Bible is clear that adultery is a grievous sin that breaks the covenant of marriage. In Malachi 2:16, the Lord says, "For I hate divorce, and him who covers his garment with violence!" Yet, we also know that God is a God of redemption and forgiveness. We pray that repentance and healing would come to all involved, that the affair partner would be convicted by the Holy Spirit and return to his own marriage, as you have asked. We rebuke the spirit of infidelity and ungodliness in Jesus' name, and we pray for the restoration of his marriage as well, that God would be glorified in the redemption of both families.

We join you in praying for communication to be restored in your marriage, for intimacy, love, trust, and faith to be renewed. We ask the Lord to bring you both to your knees in thanksgiving and praise as He works mightily in your midst. In Ephesians 5:31-32, we are reminded, "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly." Marriage is a sacred covenant, and we pray that this truth would be deeply understood and honored by both of you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, believing in Your power to restore and redeem. Lord, we lift up this marriage to You, asking that You would heal the wounds caused by sin and unfaithfulness. We pray for repentance and forgiveness to flow between this husband and wife, that they would turn their hearts fully toward You and toward one another. Father, we ask that You would remove the influence of the affair partner and restore his marriage as well, that no family would be destroyed by the enemy’s schemes.

Lord, we ask that You would soften hearts, open eyes, and restore communication. Bring back the love, trust, and intimacy that has been lost. Let Your Holy Spirit move powerfully in both of their lives, drawing them closer to You and to each other. We pray that they would seek godly counsel and allow You to guide them through this difficult time. May Your name be glorified as You bring restoration and redemption to this marriage.

We rebuke every spirit of division, infidelity, and ungodliness in Jesus’ name. We declare that this marriage will be restored according to Your will, and that both husband and wife will come to their knees in praise and thanksgiving for Your mighty work. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and fasting, trusting in His timing and His perfect plan for your marriage. Stand firm on the promises of God, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with godly counsel and accountability, and allow the Lord to work in your heart as well as your spouse’s. Restoration is possible, but it must be rooted in repentance, forgiveness, and a commitment to honor God’s design for marriage.

We are standing with you, lifting this heavy and holy hope. The ache of betrayal and the longing for your wife’s return come through clearly, and we do not take that lightly. Thank you for letting us pray alongside you.

While we join your faith that God can restore, we also want to gently remind you that restoration of a marriage requires the willing hearts of both people. In the waiting, one of the most grounded things you can do is tend your own soul. Use this season to let God deepen your prayer life, heal your wounds, and steady your character. That doesn’t diminish your hope, it anchors it in a God who never forces, but always invites.

We also encourage you, if you haven’t already, to seek out a wise pastor or a Christian counselor who understands the painful path of infidelity recovery. You do not have to navigate this alone. Having someone to listen, help you process the trauma, and provide godly direction can be lifesaving.

We pray for your wife too, that truth and grace would break through whatever has entangled her heart. And yes, we ask for the other marriage as well, that the affair partner would return to his family and find his own healing in Christ. May God bring mentors and safe, honest voices into everyone’s situation.

Lord Jesus, hold this husband close today. Calm the anxious thoughts and fill the silence with your presence. Give him the courage to keep his own heart soft, even while hurt. For his wife, open her eyes to where real life and lasting love are found. Disrupt what needs disrupting, and if she is willing, gently draw her home. Surround them both with wise counsel, and may your will be done for the other family, too. We trust you, even when the way seems unclear. In your mighty name, Amen.

Hearken to the voice that speaks in the quiet of your spirit, for it is not the voice of condemnation but of tender entreaty. "Return, return!" That is the cry which breaks from the very heart of the Bridegroom to His wayward spouse, and it sounds still over every marriage that trembles on the brink of ruin. You have prayed for the return of your wife, and that the affections of another might be turned back to his own household. Yet I would have you first hear the deeper call to your own soul, "Return now every one from his evil way." Are you altogether without blame in the story of this sorrow? Has your own heart been as warm toward Christ and His church as your words toward the restoration of your home? The Lord would have us begin with our own repentance before we lay hold upon His promises for others.

The marriage bond, when it is a covenant sealed in heaven, is a shadow of the union between Christ and His blood-bought people. He does not cast off His spouse, though she wander; He cries after her with a love that will not let her go. Four times over He calls, "Return, return!", urgent, patient, full of grace. That same voice may be pleading with her now, through the hollow joys of sin, to turn again and be healed. And if He is calling her, He calls you also to stand in the faith, not with clenched fists demanding your rights, but with open hands to receive what He alone can give.

The leaves of that tree which grows on the banks of the river of life are not only for the nations; they are for your home. There is healing in the least thing about Christ. A touch of His garment, a look from His eye, can restore the wasted years that the locust has eaten. He is the God of perfect restoration, who says to the backslider, "I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely." The thing is not too hard for Him. The heart of your wife, hardened by deceitful pleasures, may yet melt beneath the warmth of a Saviour's interceding love. The sin-hardened conscience of the other may yet be pricked with arrows from the Spirit's bow. But the healing must come in God’s own way and in God’s own time. He may send her home weeping, or He may call her to Himself without your seeing the full answer until the day when all secrets are revealed. Leave that in His hand.

Hold fast to the word of reconciliation. God was in Christ, not imputing trespasses; and if He has forgiven you ten thousand talents, can you not forgive? This is the difficult work, but it is the very marrow of the gospel. Stand on praying ground and pleading terms with God, but let your prayer be purged of all that smacks of dictating to the Almighty. Say rather, "Lord, if it be for Thy glory and our good, restore that which is broken; but if not, bind up my own heart and make me a partaker of the marriage supper of the Lamb, where no sorrow enters."

The great Husband of souls is wooing you to a nearer, closer trust. Before you see the fruit, let the leaves do their work, those little, lowly acts of faith that keep you waiting, watching, believing. The answer may tarry, but the Healer is never late. He will see you through the dark valley, and perhaps even now He is working a restoration that will make the redeemed wife a better helper to your soul than ever she was in the careless days. Only return to Him yourself, with a full and constant surrender, and then you shall find that He is married to you in faithfulness, and will never leave you.

The voice cries still, "Return, return!" Let it echo in your chamber, in your prayers, in the silent watches of the night. And when the morning breaks, and you rise to meet the day, go forth with this word upon your lips: "He is the God of restoration, and I will look for His hand."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
