Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We join with you in prayer and give thanks that you have brought this request before the Lord with a heart seeking His mercy. We stand with you in faith and agreement, asking the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope of salvation, to hear and answer according to His perfect will.
We pray that you and all those on your heart would be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of the Lord, pleasing Him in every way and bearing fruit in every good work. True favor with God is not drawn by repeating many words, but by putting aside empty pleas and giving ourselves to the work of virtue, trusting Him to help us in our struggle and to bring us to eternal blessings. We ask Him to grant that favor, and to work in power as He wills, for with Him to will is to accomplish, and what seems impossible to us is easy for Him.
We also join you in praying against the principalities and powers of darkness in high places. Scripture teaches that our warfare is a good warfare, and it requires strong arms, sobriety and continual vigilance. We pray that God would guard you and clothe you in His armor, that you would stand firm against every scheme of the enemy, and that you would be kept clear of pride and covetousness, remembering that miracles without a holy life are nothing, and that signs are given to confirm His truth and to lead us into obedience.
We ask the Lord to show His glory not as an unspeakable spectacle for its own sake, but as the glory that belongs to Christ alone, seen in transformed lives, in deliverance from sin, in peace and in abounding love poured out over the world through His people. May He turn what was lacking into abundance by His grace, supply what is needed, and cause His goodness to abound in you and through you for the sake of others.
We pray all these things with thanksgiving in the name of Jesus Christ, to whom be glory and victory forever and ever. Amen.
