Prayer over and against a wanting spirit

Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray over and against a wanting spirit.I pray for favor favor favor. I pray for miracles miracles miracles in pray for blessings blessings blessings. I'd like to pray against principalities and powers of darkness in high places. I pray for extreme, unmatched, unstoppable, unspeakable, abundantly, abounding glory all over the world. Please stand with me in faith, prayer and agreement over this. All these things I humbly ask in Jesus Christ name with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We join with you in faith and in prayer in Jesus' name and we thank you for humbly asking all these things in Jesus Christ's name with thanksgiving, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6

We hear your desire to pray over and against a wanting spirit and to pray against principalities and powers of darkness, and we stand with you in agreement against the spiritual forces of wickedness. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 We know that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4

We also want to gently and lovingly speak to what the Bible calls a wanting spirit, because God cares about the motives of our hearts when we ask for favor, miracles and blessings. A wanting spirit can be covetousness and discontent, which Scripture warns against. You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's. Exodus 20:17 And we are told, For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn't the Father's, but is the world's. 1 John 2:16

God does not withhold good from His children, but He calls us to seek Him first rather than seeking blessings for their own sake. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures. James 4:3 We also remember that godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6 and we are exhorted to learn contentment, Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. Philippians 4:11 and to Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. Hebrews 13:5

This does not mean we should not pray for favor, miracles and blessings, but we pray for them according to God's will and for His glory, not for unstoppable glory for ourselves. All glory belongs to Him alone. I am Yahweh. That is my name. I will not give my glory to another. Isaiah 42:8 When we delight ourselves in Him, He shapes our wants to match His will. Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

So we pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for Your mercy and grace. We ask You to search our hearts and cleanse us from a wanting spirit, from covetousness, from the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Forgive us where we have asked with wrong motives or repeated words thinking we would be heard for our many words. Teach us to pray according to Your will and to be content in every circumstance while still trusting You for Your provision. We ask for Your favor, not for our own exaltation but that Your name would be exalted and Your Kingdom would advance. Work miracles according to Your sovereign power and Your perfect timing, and pour out blessings that draw us closer to You and equip us to bless others. We take our stand against the principalities and powers of darkness in high places, and we ask You to break every scheme of the enemy, to guard our minds and hearts in Christ Jesus, and to let Your light and Your unmatched glory fill the earth. Let Your glory, not ours, be seen abundantly all over the world, that many would see Your goodness and turn to You. Make us instruments of Your peace and Your glory. We humbly ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, with thanksgiving, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in faith, to pray with thanksgiving, and to keep seeking first His Kingdom. As you pray for favor and miracles, ask also for wisdom to steward them well and for a heart that remains content and grateful whether the answer is yes, no, or wait, trusting that He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly with us. We hear how much you long for God's goodness to be evident in your life and around the world, and for His light to overcome darkness. It is a good thing to want more of Him.

We stand with you in that desire. At the same time we have learned that when longing turns into constant wanting, it can leave us restless even while we are praying. God invites us to bring our requests for favor and blessing honestly, and also to rest in what He is already providing day by day, trusting His wisdom about how He answers.

One simple way we have found helpful when prayers feel intense is to keep a steady, quiet rhythm, bringing the same requests to God each day with thanksgiving, staying rooted in fellowship with other believers, and noticing the ordinary ways He is at work. That steadiness helps keep our focus on Christ Himself rather than on striving for an experience.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. We ask for Your protection, Your peace and Your clear guidance. Shape his desires according to Your will, guard him from the schemes of darkness, and fill his life and home with Your presence and glory. Help him to walk in contentment and confidence in Your care today. Amen.

Your request to pray against a wanting spirit touches a need which the word of God addresses with great tenderness and truth. You will see at once that contentment in all states is not a natural propensity of man. Ill weeds grow apace, covetousness, discontent and murmuring are as natural to man as thorns are to the soil. Contentment is one of the flowers of heaven, and if we would have it, it must be cultivated. To pray against a wanting spirit is therefore to pray for a work of grace within the heart.

We do join you in prayer, yet we must pray as scripture teaches us to pray. The wanting spirit is not cured by multiplying possessions or by seeking favor upon favor in temporal things. Remember that a mans contentment is in his mind, not in the extent of his possessions. Alexander, with all the world at his feet, cries for another world to conquer. An enlightened man is grateful to God for temporal blessings, but he is much more grateful to God for spiritual blessings, for temporal blessings do not last long, they are soon gone. Temporal blessings are not definite marks of divine favor, since God gives them to the unworthy and to the wicked, as well as to the righteous.

What we most need, and what we therefore ask for you, is that God would bless you with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. These are the rarest, the richest, the most enduring of all blessings, they are priceless in value. We have not one spiritual blessing which God did not give. We have never earned one, we could never create one. All spiritual blessings come from the Father, and He has blessed us with them in Christ.

So we pray that the Lord would give you a new heart, for the Holy Spirit cannot dwell in the old heart which is full of enmity to God. We pray that you may know the free favor of God which forgives and blots out sin, that gracious deliverance which comes only through the ransom found by God Himself, even Jesus Christ who was slain. Deliverance from sin is solely by the power of God, it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.

Against principalities and powers we do not wrestle with repetitions or with claims for unstoppable earthly glory, but by putting on the panoply of God and resting in Christ, who has already brought His people forth with deliverance. We ask that you may learn in whatsoever state you are, therewith to be content, having that peaceful contentment which trusts the faithful providence of God, and that you may abound in thanksgiving for the heavenly blessings already yours in Christ.

May the Lord teach you to seek first the heavenly places where Christ dwells, and there to find that your wants are met in Him, to the praise of His grace. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our refuge and our righteousness. Amen.

Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
