Prayer of the sick

Dear God, merciful Father, I place myself under the protection of Your Holy Will. Do what is best for me: Touch me with your caring hands that I may be healed; Speak to me your consoling words that I may be strong; Assist me in my pain that I may accept it with faith; cure me from my illness that I may offer myself again to you; restore to me my lost health that I may serve you once more.

With your deep love and unconditional mercy, grant to those who care and work for the sick: renewed understanding; down to earth compassion; selfless service; fear of the Lord; and obedient heart to follow the teachings of the Church.

With your constant grace and loving assistance, let me understand your ways in my suffering; let me know your divine plan in my life. From you I came and to you I must return

I pray for those who take good care of the sick. Give them what they need most: a heart that will continue to love, not hardened by criticisms; a hand that will never stop to care, not clasped by indifference; a life that will never cease to serve, not discouraged by routine.

I pray for those who are sick. Bestow on them the gift of yourself. May he never stop to hope. May they to continue to trust. May they also pray with faith, Father into your hands I commend my spirit.” AMEN.
