Prayer of the day

Your prayer is beautiful in its honesty and trust, and it is good that you come to the Father with these things. The image you used is exactly how Scripture speaks of us. He is the potter and we are the clay, and the work is His. It is picturesque and humbling, because the clay pot is not meant to draw attention to itself, but to be a vessel through which the One who dwells within does His work and shows His glory.

It is hard to understand when you know He loves you and yet you feel the crushing and the remaking, or watch your husband go in circles that seem to have no end. His vision is so much broader than ours and His wisdom so much greater. We do not have to understand every detail of what He is doing to trust that He is doing it well. Sometimes He allows that pressing and shaping to bring us to the end of our own strength and our own props, the things our flesh leans on, so that we learn to rely fully on Him and are formed more into the image of Jesus. What feels like wandering in circles can be the very place where He opens the ear to instruction and shows us where we need to turn and trust Him more deeply.

That is why your prayers for your husband are so fitting. To ask for a renewed mind, a softened heart to receive His Word, and strength for the day is to ask for what God loves to give. True wisdom is not found in the clever ideas of men, which often lack real understanding, and it cannot be mined like gold or bought like jewels. Scripture says the fear of the Lord is wisdom and to turn from evil is understanding, and that wisdom rests with Him. He holds strength and counsel, and He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous. When His people are bound with cords of affliction, He uses even that to show them His way and to call them to return and listen.

Committing your husband's work into the Lord's hands is the wisest thing you can do, far better than worrying or tormenting yourself with questions about what you might have done differently. Your life and his life are in His hands. Rather than fretting, you can rest in committing each day and each task to Him, asking Him to be your guide and to make you an instrument through which He works, so that you know the joy of being in the center of His will.

I also join you in prayer for the project you carry in your minds and for this learning curve in game design. Ask Him for wisdom for both the understanding of mechanics and the discernment of what is good and wholesome to create. He delights to give wisdom when we ask, and He can teach you as you learn and play and study.

May the Lord bring renewed joy to your home, heal you in body, mind and soul, and bless your coming in and going out. May He keep molding you both with mercy and grace, and give you peace as you trust the Potter's hands.

Father, thank You for this husband and wife who seek You. Mold and shape them into the likeness of Jesus, strip away what they do not need and establish what will remain. Give to him a renewed mind and strength, a soft heart for Your Word, and wisdom for his work. Give to her understanding as she learns, and guide them together in this project according to Your will. Restore joy in their home, bring healing and wholeness, and keep them in Your mercy and grace each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
