Prayer of repentance & protection

Naliogate

Beloved of All
Against my hasty feet, foolishness of my heart that twists my way, against my fretting, against poverty, repentance of any deceit from me (unknowably) by others, for me to get wisdom and love my soul, keep understanding. Protection against lies. For me to be kind to all and be truthful in love. For fear of the Lord, against laziness. For me not to neglect the words of God, not be a hearer only but a doer of the word. For me to learn to wait for the Lord in peace and not anxiety. For me to stop snaring myself and think later. Confession and repentance of laziness. Desiring for better reputation and to choose a good name. Protection against an immoral woman. Repentance of vanity and pride.

We join with you in humility and gratitude for this heart of repentance, which is a gift from the Lord, for it is written, *"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise"* (Psalm 51:17, WEB). Your cry for wisdom, protection, and transformation aligns with the heart of God, who delights in those who seek Him with sincerity. We also rejoice that you have come before the Lord in this way, for He is faithful to forgive and cleanse all who repent (1 John 1:9).

Your prayer reflects a deep awareness of the snares of the enemy—haste, foolishness, deceit, laziness, vanity, and the temptations of immorality. These are battles we all face, but the Lord has given us His Word as a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). You have rightly identified the need for the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), and the call to be doers of the Word, not hearers only (James 1:22). This is a mark of true faith, and we commend you for it.

We must also address the urgency of your request for protection against an immoral woman. The Scriptures warn us clearly: *"Can a man scoop fire into his lap, and his clothes not be burned? Or can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be scorched? So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife. Whoever touches her will not be unpunished"* (Proverbs 6:27-29, WEB). Flee from sexual immorality, for it is a sin against your own body and a grievous offense to God (1 Corinthians 6:18). Guard your heart, for *"the lips of an adulteress drip honey. Her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood, and as sharp as a two-edged sword"* (Proverbs 5:3-4, WEB). If this is a struggle, we urge you to take radical steps—cut off access, avoid places of temptation, and fill your mind with the Word of God. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB).

Your desire for a better reputation and a good name is noble, for *"A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold"* (Proverbs 22:1, WEB). But remember, this comes not by striving for the praise of men, but by walking in integrity before the Lord. *"He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out"* (Proverbs 10:9, WEB). Let your focus be on pleasing God, and He will establish your steps.

Now, let us pray together for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6):

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your mercy and grace. We lift up Your child who has humbled themselves before You, confessing their sins and seeking Your transformation. Lord, You are faithful and just to forgive and cleanse from all unrighteousness, and we thank You for the blood of Jesus that washes us white as snow.

Father, we ask for Your protection over their feet, that they would not rush into folly but walk in the paths You have ordained. Guard their heart, O Lord, for from it flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23). Deliver them from fretting and anxiety, and teach them to wait upon You in peace, trusting that You will act on their behalf (Psalm 37:7). Break the snares of haste and impulsiveness, and grant them a spirit of patience and discernment.

We pray for wisdom—Your wisdom, which is pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy (James 3:17). Open their eyes to understand Your Word, that they may not only hear but do what it says. Stir in them a deep love for Your truth, that they may meditate on it day and night and walk in obedience.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of laziness and ask You to replace it with diligence and a heart that seeks to steward well the time and gifts You have given. Help them to work heartily, as for You and not for men (Colossians 3:23). Renew their mind to value industry and to find joy in laboring for Your glory.

We bind the spirits of deceit, vanity, and pride in the name of Jesus. Clothe them with humility, for You resist the proud but give grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5). Let them find their worth in You alone, not in the empty praises of this world.

Father, we ask for Your hedge of protection around them, especially against the temptations of immorality. If there are any ungodly soul ties or paths leading to sin, we pray You would sever them by Your power. Fill them with Your Spirit, that they may flee from sexual sin and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace (2 Timothy 2:22).

Grant them a reputation that honors You, not for their own glory, but that others may see their good works and glorify You in heaven (Matthew 5:16). Let their name be associated with integrity, kindness, and truth.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would cultivate in them a deep, abiding love for Your Word. Let it be their delight, their counselor, and their shield. May they hide it in their heart that they might not sin against You (Psalm 119:11).

We declare all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. May Your will be done in their life, for Your glory and their good. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to continue in this posture of repentance and surrender. The Lord is near to those who call on Him in truth (Psalm 145:18). Keep pressing into His Word, for it is your weapon against the schemes of the enemy (Ephesians 6:17). And remember, *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). Walk in the confidence that He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6).

Stay vigilant, stay prayerful, and surround yourself with brothers in Christ who will spur you on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24). You are not alone in this fight—*"If God is for us, who can be against us?"* (Romans 8:31, WEB). Stand firm in His strength.

We're right there with you, standing in the gap, lifting up your heartfelt prayer to our heavenly Father. We've been moved by your sincerity and humility, as you've laid bare your struggles and desires before Him. It's a beautiful thing to see someone so earnestly seeking His face.

We join you in asking for wisdom, not just for understanding, but for godly living. We pray that the Holy Spirit would guide your steps, keeping you from haste and foolishness. May your heart be steadfast, your mind clear, and your will strong in the pursuit of righteousness.

We echo your plea for protection, not just against poverty and lies, but also against the wiles of the enemy. We ask for a hedge of protection around you, especially against the temptation of an immoral woman. May you find strength in obedience and flee from sin, remembering that God's ways are always best.

We also pray for your reputation, that it would be a reflection of your love for God and others. May you be known for kindness, truthfulness, and integrity. We ask that any vanity or pride in your heart would be replaced with humility and a deep love for God's Word.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
