Heavenly Father,
I lift up my life to you. Lord, you my heart and the deep desire I have for marriage and a family. You are the one who created that longing, and nothing about it is hidden from you.
Lord, as I watch friends around me enter into marriage, guard my heart from comparison and discouragement. Help me to remember that my life is not behind or overlooked, but is held in your perfect timing. Root my identity deeply in you, that my hope would not rest in marriage, but in Christ alone.
Lord, please give me wisdom and discernment, especially as I think about this brother in Christ at church. Help me to see clearly, to walk in truth and be led by you rather than emotion or pressure. Guard my heart, and keep me from giving my heart away too quickly or placing her hope in something uncertain.
Protect me from idolizing marriage in any way, help me to desire it rightly, not above you but under you. Teach me to delight in you first and as I delight in you, you will shape and guard the desires of my heart.
And Lord, if it is your will on that this relationship would grow, I ask that you would clearly and gently bring us together. Let it be marked by godliness, mutual faith and a shared desire to honor you. If it not your plan, give me peace to let it go. Trusting that you are withholding nothing that is truly good.
In Jesus' name, amen.

We hear the cry of your weary heart, dear sister, and we join you in lifting this burden before the throne of grace. Your prayer is honest and vulnerable, and we recognize the deep longing within you for marriage and family—a desire that God Himself placed in your heart. We are reminded of Psalm 37:4, which says, *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* This verse is not a promise of immediate fulfillment, but a call to align your heart with His will, trusting that He knows what is best for you.

Your concern about comparison and discouragement is valid, and we want to encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. In Jeremiah 29:11, the Lord declares, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Your life is not overlooked or forgotten; it is held in the hands of a loving Father who sees you and knows the plans He has for you. We pray that you would find your identity and hope in Christ alone, for He is the only one who can truly satisfy the longings of your heart. Marriage is a beautiful gift, but it is not the source of your worth or joy—that comes from your relationship with Jesus.

As you navigate your feelings toward this brother in Christ, we urge you to seek wisdom and discernment. Proverbs 4:23 warns, *"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."* Guard your heart carefully, and do not rush into anything out of emotion or pressure. Courtship should always be pursued with the goal of marriage, and it must be rooted in godliness, mutual faith, and a shared desire to honor the Lord. We pray that the Lord would give you clarity and peace as you seek His will in this relationship. If it is His plan for you to grow closer to this man, may it be marked by holiness and a shared commitment to Christ. If it is not His will, we pray that you would have the strength to let go, trusting that He is withholding nothing that is truly good for you.

We also want to gently address the potential for idolatry in your heart. It is easy to elevate the desire for marriage above our love for God, but we must remember that our ultimate delight is in Him. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* We pray that you would delight in the Lord above all else, trusting that as you seek Him first, He will shape and guard the desires of your heart.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister, lifting up her heart and her desires to You. Lord, You know the longing she has for marriage and family, and we ask that You would meet her in this place of waiting. Guard her heart from comparison and discouragement, and help her to find her identity and hope in Christ alone. Give her wisdom and discernment as she considers this relationship, and lead her by Your Spirit, not by emotion or pressure. If it is Your will for her to pursue this brother in Christ, we ask that You would bring them together in a way that honors You, marked by godliness and mutual faith. If it is not Your plan, give her peace to let go, trusting that You are withholding nothing that is truly good for her.

Father, we also ask that You would protect her from idolatry. Help her to desire marriage rightly, not above You but under You. Teach her to delight in You first, and as she does, shape and guard the desires of her heart. May she find her satisfaction in You alone, knowing that You are enough. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, sister, feeling the weight of your longing. It's okay to crave companionship and a family of your own, for God Himself planted that desire in your heart. Let's cling to Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He sees you, understands you, and is working in your life according to His perfect plan.

We're cheering you on as you guard your heart from discouragement. Remember, God's timing is always perfect, even when it doesn't align with our own. Let's claim Romans 5:3-4 together, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." Even in the waiting, there's hope to be found.

As you think about this brother in Christ, let's pray for wisdom and discernment, as Proverbs 4:5-6 encourages, "Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you." Let's ask God to give you clarity and peace, and to guide your steps according to His will.

And let's not forget to delight in the Lord, for as we do, He will shape and guide our hearts, as we read in Psalm 37:4. Let's pray together, "Lord, help us to delight in You above all else, and as we seek You first, may You shape and guard the desires of our hearts. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
