Prayer Notes In The Western Wall

Some people have asked me about placing notes in the Western Wall (aka Wailing Wall) and the significance of this action.  First, for those who don't know, the Western Wall is the last remaining wall of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.  It is a place of prayer and extreme holiness.  If you go to the wall, you will see that many people have place prayer notes into the cracks in the wall.  It is a way that people can ask God for help and feel that they are leaving a piece of themselves behind after they have left.

Personally, I feel that placing a note works for me in two ways.  The first is that writing down my supplication helps me clarify what it is I want from God.  It makes me think about the issue and to know what it is I desire from God and what I need to do as well to make it happen.  Second, i feel that although i can't always think about my prayers, my note will be there for many months "asking" God on my behalf.  As an aside, I say for many months, because they do clean out the wall once or twice per year.

Feel free to look at my website (noted below) or to be in touch through my profile if you have any questions.

God bless,

Sol

Lord, we thank you that you for the blessings that you have given us. Help us to honor you in every part of our lives. We place this request at your throne. Please hear and reply according to your perfect will and timing. Grant us the peace to know that you are in control. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.

There is a little bit of chaos and a whole lot of spirituality that encompasses the Western Wall (Wailing Wall). As the only remaining wall that is still erect from the Jewish Temple, the Jews of Israel have made the Western Wall a place of worship and infused it with holiness. Although I like...

One of the interesting things about coming to the Western Wall is that you always see a full mix of people. There are orthodox Jews and Greek Orthodox priests. Little children and senior citizens. Singles, families, tour groups, locals etc. With all of these various people, I have often...
