Dear Friends and Family,
Over this past year I have been at school completing my health and human serves certificate through UFV. While the courses I am taking have been extremely interesting they are the pre-requites to get into psychology, which is where I would one day love to go. Yet this year is progressing and soon these course I enjoy are coming to an end and I am forced to think about my up coming year and what I want to do. I feel I have been called to help rehabilitate child soldiers in Africa through counseling. It's such a huge goal and,it seems overwhelming, but I believe I have a very big god and if thats where he wants me nothing is impossible. I believe these children deserve a childhood and a future without the painful memories of traumatic experiences that they are still too young to fully comprehend. I want to help them learn that there is such a huge god that created them and loves them. Over the past few weeks I have been researching possible schools to continue my educate at, I have looked at all of their psychology/counseling programs and compared the costs. Yet when I went to summits office to talk with the counsellors about their program there was something unique and different about them. When we walked in they were extremely friendly, and just genuine which is so refreshing to see, they answered all my questions and invited me back for their open house weekend where you stay on campus and get introduced to program directors and teachers, while staying in a dorm with the students. The program I am interested in is the Omega program which is a one year missions education on global awareness after taking it I hope to continue in they're counseling program where I can specialize in crisis counseling. The only problem is that right now I am looking for work, because with the current economy the way it is my employer could not afford to keep me as they need money for other things. At this point all I have is $167 left in my bank account and I'm in need of a lot of help from people around me because, I'm not sure what I am going to do about money but I would appreciate your prayers and donations if its possible. I trust God with my plans and know that what ever happens it will be through his will. So thanks for reading this and thinking of me.
