Prayer Needed

[Cyriosarnar]

Please pray for my return to The LORD. Please pray for my deliverance from The Devil and my enemies; for their schemes to be exposed and fail. Please pray for healing for my backsliding and body. Please pray for my health. Please pray that God helps, protects, delivers, and provides for me through my trials. Please pray for my repentance and faith unto The Lord Jesus Christ and for my restoration unto Him and deliverance from any bondages or strongholds of my enemies.

We have heard your cry and we stand with you in prayer before the Lord, for He is near to all who call upon Him in truth and He hears the repentant heart. We rejoice that you desire to return to Him, for our God is merciful and gracious and ready to forgive and restore.

The Scripture assures us of His willingness to heal our backsliding and forgive our sin when we turn to Him in repentance. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. So also it is written, I will heal their waywardness. I will love them freely, for my anger is turned away from him. Hosea 14:4. And He promises, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jer 30:17. He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3. We cling to these promises for your spiritual restoration and for the healing of your body and health.

Concerning deliverance from the enemy and his schemes, we remember that our struggle is spiritual and that God has given us authority in Christ to overcome. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds. 2 Cor 10:4. We rebuke the works of the devil and every scheme formed against you, and we ask the Lord to expose what has been hidden in darkness, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17. We also know that our God is able to deliver and protect and provide through every trial, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19, and Yahweh will give his angels charge over you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved and by which we have access to Your throne of grace. Acts 4:12, John 14:6. We lift up this dear one who longs to return to You. Grant true repentance and living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Wash away all sin by the blood of Jesus, cleanse the conscience, and restore fellowship with You. Heal the backsliding, break every bondage and stronghold of the enemy, and let every scheme and plan of the adversary be exposed and come to nothing. We resist the devil on this dear one's behalf and ask You to cause him to flee. Father, touch the body and bring health and strength, heal every infirmity, and renew the mind and heart. Help, protect, deliver, and provide through every trial, and let Your peace guard heart and mind. Lead into a life of abiding in Christ, walking in obedience, feeding daily on Your Word, and continuing in prayer and fellowship with believers, that this restoration may be lasting and fruitful for Your glory. We ask that You complete the good work You have begun and keep this one from falling, for You are faithful.

We encourage you to continue to draw near to God each day, to confess sin quickly, to read the Scriptures, to pray without ceasing, and to walk in the light. Submit yourself fully to God and resist the enemy, and trust that He who has promised is faithful to forgive, to heal, to deliver, and to keep you. He will not forsake the one who comes to Him through Jesus Christ. Continue in repentance and faith, and the Lord will restore you and establish you.

We are so glad you wrote to us. It takes humility to name backsliding and to ask for help returning to the Lord, and we hear how much you want to be restored, free from what has had a hold on you, and well in body and spirit.

We want you to know God is not pushing you away as you turn toward Him. Coming back is often a walk, not just a moment, and it helps to not walk it alone. One steady step we have seen help others is to bring one or two trusted, mature believers or a pastor into what you are carrying, to pray with you regularly, to listen, and to help you keep turning toward Jesus when old patterns press in.

For your health concerns, we are praying for healing and strength, and we also encourage you to stay connected to a doctor or other health professional for care alongside prayer.

Father, we bring our brother before You in Jesus name. You see his desire to repent and trust You again. Draw him close, break what binds him, guard him from the enemy's schemes and give him discernment and peace. Heal what is wounded in body and spirit, provide for his needs through these trials, and restore him in Your presence day by day. Keep him in Your care and strengthen his faith. Amen.

[Spurgeon]

Your honest cry has been heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. There is hope for the backslider who would return, for He who calls you to repentance is Himself the Prince and Saviour who gives both repentance and remission of sins.

You ask rightly for repentance and faith unto the Lord Jesus Christ, and these two are inseparable. The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart come into the soul together. They are as Siamese twins, and neither is true without the other. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with a hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. This holy and healthy repentance is not the work of fallen nature washed and brushed, but the work of the Spirit of God, and it gives glory to God. It is the gift of God, to be preached in the name of Jesus, and even the least repentance will save the soul if it is sincere, as the least faith, though it be but as a grain of mustard seed, is true faith and like precious faith because it begins and ends with Jesus.

Take with you words, and come by faith to Jesus, and say, Heal my backsliding, receive me graciously and love me freely. By faith we are restored at the first, and by faith we return again. For the Lord has said, I will heal their backsliding. What is this healing. It lies in forgiveness of its sin and release from its power, in the taking away of temporal chastisement and in the restoration of lost comfort, when He gives beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning. If you hate your backsliding and would gladly find deliverance from every sin, you may be assured you are one of those of whom God has said this. Do not believe that His mercy is gone forever.

You ask also for deliverance from the devil and from your enemies, that their schemes may be exposed and fail, and for deliverance from every bondage and stronghold. Take unto you the whole armor of God, and above all the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. No wounds can be inflicted upon the warrior who is clad in the armor of faith. It is well to cast all your cares on Him who cares for you, and thus by an act of faith in your heavenly Father to be delivered from the noise of these archers. The conquest wrought by the Lord Jesus is your deliverance, and though you may say, I would, but cannot trust, faith comes while Christ is set before you as exalted to save.

We pray for you now.

O Lord God, who hears the prayer of the returning wanderer, look upon this soul who desires to return unto Thee. Grant true repentance unto life, a godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of, and give faith to rest upon the finished work of Christ alone for salvation. Heal this backsliding fully, forgive its sin, break its power, remove Thy chastening hand, and restore lost comfort and joy. Deliver from the devil and from every enemy, expose their schemes and cause them to fail, and bring to nothing every bondage and stronghold. Lay Thy hand upon the body, bring healing and health according to Thy will, and help, protect, deliver and provide through every trial. Keep this seeking one by Thy power, for Thou wilt bring Thy blood bought ones securely home. Though faith be little and repentance feel imperfect, we thank Thee that Thou despisest not the least true faith, and that Thou tenderly commendest even trembling trust. Increase faith and deepen repentance day by day, and let this soul find that repentance lives as long as faith, a continual lifelong act wrought by Thy Spirit. Restore unto fellowship with Thyself through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name alone is salvation. Amen.
