We join you in your desire to be filled with the Spirit of God, for your light to shine brightly, and for your life to be a testimony that silences the enemy. Your heart’s cry aligns beautifully with Scripture, which calls us to walk in holiness and to let our good works glorify our Father in heaven. As it is written in Matthew 5:14-16 (WEB):
*"You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven."*
We also remember the words of Jesus in Mark 9:50 (WEB): *"Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another."* And in Colossians 4:6 (WEB), we are reminded: *"Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."* Your desire to be "salty" reflects a heart that longs to preserve truth, bring flavor to the world, and create thirst for the living water that only Christ can provide.
Yet we must also remember that our good works, while vital, are not the source of our righteousness—only Christ is. It is *His* Spirit in us that produces fruit and good works, not our own effort. As Jesus said in John 15:5 (WEB): *"I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing."* So we pray that you abide deeply in Him, for apart from Christ, even our best efforts are as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6).
We also note that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that our prayers are heard. As Scripture declares in John 14:6 (WEB): *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in Acts 4:12 (WEB): *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you *will* be saved (Romans 10:9-10).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved sibling in Christ before Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You fill this earthly vessel to overflowing with Your Holy Spirit, that every thought, word, and deed would be surrendered to Your will. May their light shine so brightly that darkness flees, and may their life be seasoned with the salt of Your truth, preserving what is holy and pointing others to You.
Lord, we pray that their enemies—both spiritual and earthly—would have nothing to say against them, not because of their own righteousness, but because of *Your* righteousness working through them. May their life be a living testimony of Your grace, mercy, and power. Strengthen them to walk in obedience, to abide in Christ, and to bear fruit that lasts.
We rebuked any spirit of pride that might tempt them to trust in their own good works rather than in Your finished work on the cross. Remind them daily that it is *Your* Spirit who produces good fruit in them, and may they never forget that their righteousness is found in Christ alone.
If there is any area of their life that is not fully surrendered to You, Lord, we ask that You convict them by Your Spirit. Bring repentance where needed, healing where there is brokenness, and restoration where the enemy has stolen. Clothe them in Your armor, that they may stand firm against every scheme of the devil.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily through His Word and prayer. Memorize Scripture, meditate on it, and let it dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16). Surround yourself with believers who will spur you on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24). And never forget: the battle is the Lord’s (1 Samuel 17:47), and He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). Stand firm, dear one, and watch what the Lord will do!
