We join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord, and we thank you for your honesty in asking for prayer for everyone affected by this sin.

We agree with you that what your brother did was evil and gravely wrong. Scripture is clear that God sees injustice and that those who practice it bear a heavy weight of guilt before Him, even as their conscience bears witness within them. We will not ask God to excuse or bless what He calls sin, but we do pray as you asked that your brother would come under true conviction, that his conscience would not be silenced, and that he would turn to Jesus Christ in genuine repentance. Salvation is through Jesus alone, who gave Himself for sinners while we were still enemies of God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. We pray that while he serves the sentence that justice requires, God would protect his life from harm and use this time to bring him to see the seriousness of his sin, to confess it fully without excuse, to accept responsibility, and to receive the forgiveness and new life that comes only through faith in Christ. We pray that he would submit to the just consequences of his actions and learn to walk in truth and purity going forward.

We also lift up your great-great niece before the Father who loves and defends children. What happened to her was not her fault, and telling the truth was right and courageous. We pray that the Lord would lift all false guilt and shame from her, that she would know deep in her heart that she is not to blame for the sin committed against her, and that she would experience His peace that passes understanding. We ask that God would bring restoration to every area of her life, healing to her mind and heart, comfort in moments of fear or memory, and the assurance that she is precious, clean, and loved in Christ. We pray for wise, safe, and caring people around her to support her, including counselors and pastors who can help her heal, and for protection over her future.

We pray for the restoration of your entire family, knowing that restoration must be built on truth, accountability, and love. This kind of wound affects everyone, and healing will take time. We ask that God would give your family wisdom to care well for the victim first, to speak truthfully about what happened, to set healthy boundaries, and to seek the Lord together for comfort and unity. We pray that bitterness would not take root, but that each member would find grace to grieve, to forgive as God enables, and to walk in holiness, remembering that God desires both justice and mercy.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask for Your mercy and Your justice to be at work in this family. Bring true repentance where there is sin, bring healing where there is hurt, bring peace where there is guilt and shame, and bring restoration according to Your will. Guard the heart of this young woman, draw this man to Yourself in truth, and lead this family in the way of righteousness and love. Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with this painful and heavy request. What has happened in your family is grievous, and it is right to bring it before the Lord honestly. The harm done to a child is especially serious in the eyes of God, because children are vulnerable and entrusted to adults for protection, not for harm. Scripture treats such abuse as a grave sin, and it is understandable that this crime has brought shame and confusion and deep sorrow over your whole family.

Your prayer for your brother is right in its focus. What he needs most is not only protection while he serves his sentence, but repentance and salvation. God does not forgive and cleanse apart from an honest confession of sin. Like David after his sin with Bathsheba, who tried at first to hide his guilt and only later said plainly, I have sinned, and then prayed for God to create in him a clean heart and restore to him the joy of salvation, your brother must acknowledge his guilt before God without excuse or blame shifting. The promise of Scripture is that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, but that cleansing comes only through Jesus Christ. There is salvation in no other. We will pray that God will keep your brother physically safe, and more importantly that the Holy Spirit will bring him to see the true weight of what he has done, to turn from it, and to put his faith in Jesus for forgiveness and new life. Only God can give a new heart and a right spirit within.

We also join you in praying for your niece. She has done what is right by telling the truth, and she should not carry guilt or shame for that. The shame belongs to the one who sinned against her, not to her. It is common for those who have been harmed to feel as though they are somehow at fault or that they should have remained silent, but she is not to blame for the sin committed against her when she was so young. Pray that the Lord, who sees all that was done in secret and who is close to the brokenhearted, will lift that false guilt from her, cover her with His peace, and bring restoration to every area of her life. He alone is our salvation and hope when a family is in a complete mess and shame has covered us. Ask Him to help her know she is valued, loved, and not defined by what was done to her, and to surround her with wise, safe, and supportive people who will help her heal.

For your entire family, restoration will not come by minimizing what happened or by pretending it did not happen, but by walking in truth. God calls His people to acknowledge wrong, to stop blaming others, and to seek Him. He has promised to bring near those who turn to Him, even when only a remnant remains faithful. Pray that each member of your family will look to the Lord alone for salvation and healing, that relationships will be rebuilt on honesty, boundaries that protect the vulnerable, and grace that does not excuse sin but points to the cross where sin can be forgiven.

Let us pray together. Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved. We ask for Your protection over this man in prison, and we ask above all that You would bring him to true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, that he would confess his sin and receive a clean heart from You. We ask for Your healing hand upon this young woman, that You would free her from all guilt and shame, give her peace in knowing she told the truth, and restore what has been broken in her life. Bring comfort, wisdom, and unity to this family as they seek You, and let each one find hope only in You. In Jesus name, amen.
