We join with you in prayer for justice and truth to prevail in your workplace and we bring your kitchen work, your wages, your shifts and every concern before the Lord together in Jesus' name.
We hear the heaviness of dealing with favoritism, fighting over tips, twisted lies and cover ups, and we know that God sees what is done in secret and He is a God of justice and truth. Psalm 37:28 says For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. Proverbs 11:1 reminds us that A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight. When wages are withheld or dishonesty is used to cover wrongdoing, it does not escape His notice. James 5:4 says Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies. And Leviticus 19:13 says You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.
We also take comfort that promotion and favor ultimately come from God and not from man. Psalm 75:6-7 tells us For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another. As you continue to work with integrity we encourage you to hold to Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord You see every hour worked in that kitchen, every tip divided, every lie spoken and every attempt to cover wrongdoing. We ask that You let truth be revealed and that Your justice shine like the noon day sun as Psalm 37:6 promises He will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun. We ask that everything owed for work done would be paid quickly and fairly, that doors of opportunity and promotion would be opened according to Your will, and that new specials and good shifts would be granted by Your hand of favor. Lord we ask You to remove favoritism and strife, to convict hearts where there has been dishonesty, and to bring peace and fairness among coworkers. Give this dear one wisdom to speak the truth in love, grace to remain faithful and honest even when wronged, and patience to trust Your timing, for Romans 12:19 reminds us Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Let Your will be done in that workplace and let Your name be glorified through how justice is carried out. We ask for Your protection, Your provision, and Your peace to guard this heart while waiting on You. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to do what is right and to be faithful in the small things, for Luke 16:10 says He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. Keep careful records of hours and wages owed, act with honesty and respect toward management and coworkers as you seek a fair resolution, and trust that the Lord is your advocate. We are standing with you for God to open doors no man can shut and to let His favor and justice be evident in your work.
