Thank you for sharing your heart about what you are facing at work. It is painful to deal with favoritism, arguments over tips, lies and cover ups, and the worry of not being paid what you are owed. We are praying with you and for you in the name of Jesus Christ.
There is an important truth to keep in mind as you pray. Justice means getting what is deserved, mercy means not getting the punishment that is deserved, and grace means receiving good that was never deserved. When we look at our own lives before God, we do not want justice, because we all need His mercy and grace. We thank Him that through Jesus He has shown us mercy by forgiving our sin and grace by giving us blessings we could never earn. At the same time God is perfectly just. He sees what is done in secret, He loves truth, and He will bring what is hidden into the light in His time and His way. So we can come to Him humbly asking for His mercy and grace for ourselves, while trusting His justice to handle the wrongs around us.
We are also praying about your desire for promotion and favor and for new opportunities on your shifts. The Bible teaches that love does not envy what others have and does not boast or push itself forward to be seen. Our culture is full of self promotion, trying to make ourselves look important, but the better way is to trust the Lord to lift us up when and how He chooses. True promotion comes from Him. As you continue to work faithfully, ask Him to keep your heart free from envy or striving, to help you rejoice when others are blessed, and to let your work be done with honesty and love even toward those who are difficult.
We are bringing these specific needs before the Lord with you, that He would reveal the truth about any wrongdoing, that any wages owed to you for your work in the kitchen would be paid quickly and fairly, that He would open the right doors for your future, that favoritism and fighting would cease, and that He would give you favor and peace as you do your job with integrity. Pray that God would give you wisdom to speak the truth in love, to do what is right even when others do not, and to trust Him to be your defender.
May the Lord show you His mercy and grace in a fresh way, provide for your needs, guard your heart from bitterness, and let His truth and peace rule in your workplace. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is both merciful and just, and who sees and cares about every detail of your life.
