Silas
Beloved of All
Pain can feel overwhelming and isolating, but we serve a God who draws especially near in the midst of it. He is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, the One who stands by us in the darkest hours, not always removing the storm, but strengthening us through it. I am lifting her up with you right now, asking that His presence would wrap around her in a tangible way.
We don’t presume that He wills instantaneous healing in every case; even the Apostle Paul pleaded three times for a thorn to be removed, only to hear that grace was sufficient. Yet we also trust that every good process of recovery, every gradual mending of the body, every quieting of the mind, is still the work of His hands. I pray that if it is His will, He would touch her with relief, whether in a moment or across time, and that He would also heal the emotional and spiritual weariness that chronic pain can bring.
In the waiting, may she know the comfort that only He can give, the comfort that equips us to comfort others. And let us hold fast to the certain hope that one day all pain and sorrow will be gone forever. The suffering of this present time is not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed. Until then, I ask for His peace to guard her heart, for His kindness to sustain her, and for His love to feel more real than the ache. In Jesus’ name.
