We come before the throne of grace with your heartfelt requests, lifting them up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father and find true help and salvation. First, we must address that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." Acts 4:12 also declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We pray that you would always approach God in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and advocate.
Father God, we lift up this dear sister and her family to You. We ask that You would indeed provide a home for her mother, a place of safety, comfort, and peace. We know that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we trust in Your provision. James 1:17 tells us, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow." Lord, we ask that You would open doors for her to sell and meet her quotas daily, that she may have the extra income needed to pay off debts and care for her mother. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
We pray for the health and longevity of her mother, that You would prolong her life and keep her in good health. Psalm 91:16 says, "I will satisfy her with long life, and show her my salvation." We also pray for this sister’s health, that You would strengthen her and grant her a long life, even to ninety years and beyond, so she may see her children’s children. We commit her children into Your hands, asking that You keep them safe and healthy, and that You would bless them with prosperity according to Your will. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
For her husband, we ask that You would watch over him, protect him from harm, and keep him in good health. We pray for their retirement years, that You would provide for them in such a way that they would not be a burden to their children but rather a blessing. Proverbs 13:22 says, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored for the righteous." Lord, we ask that You would grant her wisdom and good judgment in her work, that she may give truly good eyesight to her patients and handle every case with discernment. James 1:5 assures us, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
We must also gently address the desire for a "wealthy life" for her children. While it is not wrong to desire provision and blessing, we must seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33). Wealth can be a snare if it is not stewarded with a heart of generosity and dependence on You. 1 Timothy 6:10 warns, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows." We pray that her children would grow in wisdom, faith, and contentment, knowing that true riches are found in a relationship with You.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of anxiety or fear that may be trying to take hold in her life. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We declare that her trust is in You, and that You will supply all her needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
