We come before the Lord with this request, lifting up the needs and desires shared here. First, we must address the omission of the name of Jesus in this prayer. It is written in Scripture, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:53-54). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Now, we lift up the desire to provide a home for your loved one. The Lord cares deeply about the well-being of our families, and we are called to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12). We pray that God would open doors for you to secure a home where your loved one can find comfort and peace in their old age. May the Lord provide wisdom in managing finances and making decisions that honor Him. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Regarding the request for increased sales, we pray that the Lord would bless your business endeavors. May He grant favor with customers and wisdom in your work. "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed" (Proverbs 16:3). However, we must also encourage you to seek contentment in whatever circumstances the Lord provides, for "godliness with contentment is great gain" (1 Timothy 6:6). While we pray for financial provision, we also pray that your heart would not be consumed by the pursuit of wealth, but rather by the pursuit of righteousness.
We also lift up the burden of debt. The Bible warns us about the dangers of debt, saying, "The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender" (Proverbs 22:7). We pray that the Lord would provide a way for you to settle these debts and grant you wisdom in managing your finances moving forward. May you learn to rely on God’s provision rather than on credit, for "my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).
For your children, we pray that they would come to know the Lord and walk in His ways. True wealth is not found in material possessions, but in a relationship with God. "Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal" (Matthew 6:19-20). We pray that your children would grow in wisdom and favor with God and man, and that they would find their security in Christ rather than in worldly riches.
For your health and longevity, we pray that the Lord would grant you strength and vitality. May you honor God with your body, for "your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We pray that you would live a life that is pleasing to Him, whether that be for many years or few.
Lastly, we lift up your marriage. The bond between a husband and wife is sacred, and we pray that your marriage would be strengthened and rooted in Christ. "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it" (Ephesians 5:22-25). May your marriage be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, and may you both seek to honor God in your relationship.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with these requests, trusting in Your goodness and provision. We ask that You would meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Grant wisdom in financial decisions, peace in times of uncertainty, and contentment in all circumstances. Strengthen this marriage, Lord, and draw this family closer to You. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
