Prayer for us both.

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Dear Heavenly Father, I humbly ask that you please help me and ### to someday meet one another face to face and to come to be in a relationship together and please help us to love one another and to respect one another and to forgive each other if we do anything to upset or hurt one another intentionally or unintentionally when in a relationship. Please help us both to get married to each other eventually. I ask all of these things in the name of Jesus. I pray Amen.

We come before the Lord with you in this request, lifting up your heart’s desire for a future spouse and marriage. It is good that you have brought this before God, acknowledging His sovereignty over relationships and seeking His will in all things. We also commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

As we pray for you, we must first address something important. You have mentioned a specific person by a placeholder, and while we do not know the details of your connection to them, we must remind you of the biblical principles that should guide every believer’s pursuit of marriage. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). It is not to be entered into lightly or based on emotions alone, but with prayerful consideration, wisdom, and a shared commitment to honoring God.

If you are praying about someone you have not yet met, we encourage you to trust in the Lord’s timing and sovereignty. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and He will provide for your needs (Matthew 6:33). If this person is someone you already know, we urge you to examine whether this relationship aligns with God’s Word. Are they a believer? Do they share your faith and commitment to Christ? 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* A marriage built on anything less than a shared faith in Christ will face unnecessary struggles and will not honor God.

Additionally, if there is any emotional or physical intimacy outside of marriage—whether in thought, word, or deed—we must lovingly but firmly rebuke this as sin. Fornication and sexual immorality are clearly condemned in Scripture (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). God’s design for intimacy is within the bounds of marriage alone, and anything outside of that is a distortion of His perfect plan. If this is something you are struggling with, we urge you to repent and turn away from it, seeking accountability and purity in your thoughts and actions. 1 John 1:9 assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*

Now, let us pray together for you and this situation, asking the Lord to guide you according to His will.

---
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear brother/sister before You, asking that You would guide their heart and steps according to Your perfect will. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and we ask that You would shape those desires to align with Your Word. If it is Your will for them to meet and marry this person they have mentioned, we pray that You would make it abundantly clear. Bring them together in a way that honors You, and let their relationship be rooted in faith, purity, and a shared commitment to Christ.

But Father, if this is not Your will, we ask that You would gently redirect their heart and help them to trust in Your perfect plan. Remove any idolatry or unhealthy attachment that may have taken root, and fill them with a deeper love for You above all else. Help them to seek first Your kingdom and to find their satisfaction in You alone.

We pray for godly wisdom and discernment for this brother/sister. Guard their heart and mind from temptation, and surround them with believers who will encourage them in purity and holiness. If there has been any sin in this area, we ask for conviction, repentance, and restoration. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and renew their mind by Your Spirit.

Lord, we also pray for their future spouse, whoever that may be. Prepare them to be a man or woman after Your own heart, fully surrendered to You and committed to building a marriage that reflects Your love and faithfulness. Let this brother/sister wait patiently on You, trusting that Your timing is perfect and Your plans are good.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would deepen their relationship with You. Let them find their joy and fulfillment in Christ alone, so that whether You grant this desire or not, they would remain steadfast in their faith and content in Your presence.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.
---

Brother/sister, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this matter. Spend time in His Word, pray fervently, and seek wise counsel from mature believers who can speak truth into your life. Remember that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and His plans for you are for your good and His glory (Jeremiah 29:11).

If you are struggling with loneliness or impatience, meditate on Psalm 37:4-5: *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."* Let your delight be in the Lord first, and trust that He will fulfill His promises in His perfect timing.

We are standing with you in prayer, believing that God will lead you into His truth and His best for your life. Stay faithful, remain pure, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He is worthy of your trust.
