Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer of thanksgiving is beautiful and it is a joy to join with you in it. Giving thanks for the day itself, for protection and guidance and provision, for health in your family and for wisdom given to your daughter is right and pleasing to God, for every good gift comes from His hand.
I also join you in committing your work and the management review to the Lord. Scripture speaks of how a ruler's favor can be refreshing like dew on the grass or like a cloud that brings rain, while his displeasure can be like the roar of a lion. Many people naturally seek the favor of those in authority, and it is understandable to pray that your president would be kind and calm in discussion. At the same time the proverbs teach that a gentle answer can turn away anger, and that while we may look to a leader for favor, the final decision rests with the Lord. His eyes are in every place, seeing all that is done, and He is present in that meeting room. You can trust not only in human kindness but in the Lord who is able to guide hearts and to give you wisdom to speak with grace and truth. Pray for a soft and wise answer on your part as well, and rest in the knowledge that God will work what is right.
It is good to thank God for the knowledge and wisdom He has given your daughter in her midterms. True favor does not come from outward appearance or from trying to impress others, for that is empty. Good understanding gives favor, and the beauty that lasts is found in reverence for the Lord. Continue to pray that she will grow in that inner reverence and in love for God's word, which is the foundation for lasting wisdom.
When pressures gather, whether from work responsibilities, family needs, or daily uncertainties, anxiety can rise. The psalmist knew that feeling when he asked his own soul why it was cast down and unsettled. His answer to himself was to put God back into the equation and to hope in Him. When God seems distant, He has not left. Jacob felt alone and uncertain about the future and did not sense God's presence, yet the Lord was there all along with a plan for him. In the same way, the Lord is with you in both the joyful and the stressful moments, and when you set your hope on Him, what felt impossible can be seen with new clarity.
So we bring your requests before the Father together, asking that He keep you and your family safe, that He grant the desires of your hearts as they align with His perfect will and timing, and that He cause you to grow in Him each day.
Father, we thank You for this day and for Your faithful protection, guidance and provision. Thank You for health and for the wisdom You give. We place this work review before You and ask for Your presence there. Give calmness and kindness, give wisdom and gracious speech, and let Your will be done. We ask that You continue to lead this family, guard them, and draw each one closer to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, in whose name we pray, Amen.
