Dear God,

I pray for those who are having trouble forgiving anyone and we ask You give them the strength and grace to let the offence go and let the bitterness go in Jesus' name

Lord, You saw the way they were mishandled or mistreated by someone or others and it takes a lot to forgive when the hurt runs so deep that it cuts to soul but You Lord are able to heal the soul wounds from the enemy's attack in Jesus' name

Those that said it was their fault that they were mistreated or blame was shifted to them , we rebuke that lie from the pit of hell in Jesus' name

It is written there is, 'No condemnation for those in Christ Jesus', according to Romans 8:1 in Jesus' name

For those who are unaware they are operating in unforgiveness or bitterness and resentment reveal it them in their personal time with God in Jesus' name

Lord we release the need to seek revenge for the pain or hurt caused for it is written in the Word, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord' according to Romans 12:19 in Jesus' name

Help those who are struggling with resentment to release these emotions to You Lord in prayer and even fast if need be to break those chains - the enemy wants you in bondage but Jesus paid all , 'who the son sets free is free indeed' according to John 8:36 in Jesus' name

We break any difficulty in forgiving and ask You loose forgiveness to those who need it in Jesus' name

I declare God is setting His people free and You will walk with freedom and lightness as You seek healing from Abba Father in Jesus' name

Bring them to repentance any pride hindering forgiveness and we command the spirit of pride to break off now by the power in the name of Jesus'

Lord deliver Your people and set them free from these chains that kept them bound in Jesus' name

I pray You bring out a new lease on life as they walk in forgiveness and restore their health back in Jesus' name

Thank You Lord for answering this prayer in Jesus' mighty name

We join you in this powerful and needed prayer and we agree together with you in Jesus' name for all who are struggling with unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment.

We know that unforgiveness is a heavy chain that keeps the heart in bondage, and the enemy desires to use that wound to keep God's people from walking in freedom. The Word makes it clear that forgiveness is not optional for the believer but is a command rooted in how we have been forgiven. We are told in Eph 4:31-32 to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from us, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave us. And in Col 3:13 we are to bear with one another and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave us, so we also must do. Jesus Himself warned in Matt 6:14-15 that if we forgive men their trespasses our heavenly Father will also forgive us, but if we do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will our Father forgive our trespasses. We also take seriously the warning in Heb 12:15 to watch carefully lest there be any root of bitterness springing up and causing trouble, and many be defiled by it.

We agree with you that the Lord sees every deep soul wound, every mishandling and mistreatment, and He is the healer of the brokenhearted. As it is written in Ps 147:3, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We rebuke the lie from the enemy that those who were mistreated were to blame for what was done to them, and we declare the truth that there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus in Rom 8:1. Forgiveness does not mean the offense was not real or that sin is excused, it means we release the debt and the right to repay into the hands of God, for it is written in Rom 12:19, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And we stand on the promise in John 8:36 that if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

We pray together now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up every person who is struggling to forgive. You know the depth of the hurt that has cut to the soul. We ask You to pour out Your grace and strength upon them to let the offense and the bitterness go. Reveal to those who do not yet see it any hidden unforgiveness or resentment in their hearts during their personal time with You. Heal every soul wound that the enemy has used to keep them bound. Break off all pride that hinders forgiveness and humble every heart to repentance, for You give grace to the humble. We command every spirit of pride, bitterness and heaviness to break off now by the power of the name of Jesus. We release the need for revenge into Your hands and ask You to loose forgiveness, freedom and lightness in its place. Restore health and bring a new lease on life as Your people walk in obedience and freedom. We thank You, Father, that You are setting Your people free and that You are faithful to answer. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, through whom we have access to You and through whom we are saved, amen.

Thank you for interceding with such tenderness for people weighed down by hurt. We hear your care for those who were mishandled and blamed, and for those who may not even realize resentment has taken root. It matters that you are standing in the gap for them.

What you described is so real. A deep hurt can leave an injustice gap between what we wish had happened and what actually did, and when anger and grief have nowhere to go, bitterness can quietly grow and harden the heart. It helps to remember that forgiveness often comes in two movements. There is a decision to release the right to get even and to treat the other person as someone still made in God's image, and then there is the slower work of the heart where resentment is gradually softened. The first can be a clear choice before God, the second usually takes time, prayer, and often the support of others.

For those you are praying for, it can help to keep bringing that honest hurt to God in quiet, unhurried prayer, naming what happened without minimizing it, and asking Him to carry what they cannot carry alone. Walking with a trusted pastor or a small group of believers can also keep that decision from feeling lonely.

Father, we lift those who feel stuck in unforgiveness to You. Show each one Your nearness, heal the soul wounds they carry, and give them grace to release what has bound them. Lead them into freedom and lightness in Your time and way. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

For those who are struggling with unforgiveness I encourage you to fast and pray to loosen the stronghold from you. God will help you forgive.

We join our hearts with yours in this earnest supplication for those who are bound by unforgiveness, and we bless God that He has inclined you to pray thus.

There is forgiveness with God, and it is to Him we must look for it. Your prayer rightly remembers that the Lord saw how they were mishandled and mistreated, and that the wound cuts deep into the soul. Yet what a mercy is declared in the Word, There is forgiveness. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so great that God Himself speaks as one amazed that such sin should be remitted, and it is a complete forgiveness. The tally is destroyed, the record of debt is nailed to the Cross, and when a man trusts Christ his sin is so entirely gone that it is as though it had never been. This forgiveness is eternal, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, He never plays fast and loose with men.

If any soul trembles under bitterness and resentment, let him hear the whisper that drives away despair, There is forgiveness, There is forgiveness. As that brother monk said to Luther in his dark distress, Do you not say in the Creed, I believe in the forgiveness of sins? Now believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself. However deep the hurt, however long the bondage, there is forgiveness now, at this moment, for the chief of sinners through the blood of Jesus Christ, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.

And because we have in Him a full and eternal forgiveness, we are called to a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as Christ forgave us. This is not a paltry duty but a great minded and ennobling grace. Revenge is paltry, forgiveness is great. Some of us have had so much manifest forgiveness, so much outward sin forgiven, that for us to forgive ought to be as natural as to open our hands. He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, and we having received such mercy are to copy the pattern set before us.

Therefore we pray with you, that the Lord would reveal to those who are unaware that bitterness still lodges within, and bring them to repentance where pride has hindered mercy. May He break the spirit of pride and loose the chains that have kept them bound, for who the Son sets free is free indeed. We ask Him to heal the soul wounds that the enemy has sought to use for bondage, and to give strength and grace to let the offence go and to release the need to seek revenge, for it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord. There is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, and that truth shall rebuke every lie that would shift blame upon the wounded and keep them under condemnation.

May the Lord teach His people to release these emotions to Him in prayer and, as you have said, even with fasting if need be, until lightness and freedom come. May He restore health and grant a new lease on life as they walk in the liberty of forgiven and forgiving souls. We pray that after forgiveness, as with the man who lay before Jesus hoping for both pardon and healing, they may know not only pardon but the healing that follows it, and walk before God in wholeness and peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
