How good it is to bring the needs of others before the throne of grace, and to do so in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom alone we have access to the Father.
There is a peace which the world gives and a peace which God gives, and may the Holy Spirit give you discerning hearts to know the difference. False peace is as stupefying and deadly as opium, for it draws the soul away from thinking of God and of eternal things. But the peace of God is solid and abiding, for it is founded on eternal Truth and guaranteed by the God of holiness. He is solely and entirely the God of peace, for He created peace originally, He restores it though wars have broken out through sin, and He shall perfect and consummate it at last. This peace was sealed by the blood of the everlasting covenant, when thoughts of peace in the mind of God toward His chosen were executed on our behalf. Therefore I pray with you that you may know first peace with God through the atoning blood of Christ, and then that consequent peace in the little kingdom within, that peace which passes all understanding and keeps the heart and mind.
You have asked that heart healing be brought to the surface, that what has been suppressed may be made known. Our only safe course, and may the Spirit of God grant us grace to follow it, is to come to God as we actually are, and ask Him to deal with us in Christ Jesus according to our actual condition. Only on the footing of sin daily confessed and pardoned can there be fellowship with the eternal God, for that footing alone is consistent with the facts of the case. Bring your hurts, your past pain, your unresolved conflicts and communications, your injustice endured in past seasons, and lay them before Him who lays His thunder by for all His believing ones. Low thoughts of God create doubts of pardon and doubt holds us in bondage under sin, but high thoughts of God beget hope, and hope leads to confidence. Trust Him to be your King and Lawgiver, and that personal faith will bring peace to the soul.
You have prayed for wisdom to navigate challenges, for deliverance from the torment of unbelief that God will supply needs, and for peace of mind and better sleep. Remember that sleep is the gift of God, and not a man would close his eyes did not God put His fingers on his eyelids and send a soft and balmy influence over his frame. This peculiar sleep He gives to His beloved is not the sleep of negligence or sorrow, but a rest preserved by the God of peace who keeps us unto the day of the Lord's appearing. So taste and see that the peace of God is good, for it is peace in the time of tempest and peace after storm. Even as the Psalm of the thunderstorm shows the voice of God thundering from end to end, so His peace remains.
And your prayer that any who need to speak to a trained professional counsellor or pastor would seek that assistance is wise and right. Bear one another's burdens, be of one mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace shall be with you. May He grant you wisdom from above, cause His goodness to shine over your week, and give you victory not by bitter striving but by sanctifying grace that makes you seek what makes for peace.
May the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will, and keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
