Thank you for sharing this burden and allowing us to join you in prayer. Your love for this dear one and your desire to see them made whole in Jesus is a beautiful reflection of the Lord's own heart for people.
We join you in praying first for salvation. The Scripture makes it clear that salvation is not far away or hard to reach. It is as near as your mouth and your heart. If a person will confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, they will be saved. His very name means the Lord our salvation, for He came to save His people from their sins. To confess Him now and to submit to Him as Lord is to receive eternal life. This grace that brings salvation has appeared to all, and today is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation. We pray that the Lord will not allow this loved one to harden their heart, but that while the opportunity is present they will hear His voice, believe and confess Him. We pray that God Himself will work within them, for it is God who works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure. He can place His desires within a heart and give a new willingness where there was resistance. We ask Him to draw this loved one gently and firmly to Himself.
We also pray with you for healing of heart and for restoration. The Lord sees the heart as no one else can. He knows a divided heart that is torn between flesh and spirit, and He desires to give an undivided heart that is wholly for Him. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He plants His own desires within us and makes us whole. We ask Him to heal the deep wounds left by this mistreatment, to bind up what has been broken, to enlarge the heart that has been pressed into a narrow and painful place, and to bring true restoration that only He can give. May He lead this loved one in His everlasting way and give a heart that seeks Him fully, not faintly or outwardly only, but deeply and truly.
Concerning the wrong done by the in law, your cry for justice is right and God hears it. He is a God of justice and He desires judgment and justice to prevail. When justice is perverted and the foundations of right are shaken, He sees it and He grieves over it. The Scriptures tell us that He even wondered when there was no one to intercede for what is right. He sees the destructive acts and the loss of property that was not theirs to destroy, and nothing is hidden from Him. Justice demands that wrong be addressed, and mercy does not cancel truth. We can trust Him to be the perfect Judge who will do what is right in His time and in His way. We pray that He will bring forth what is just, that He will restrain further harm, and that He will provide for what has been lost. We also release vengeance into His hands and ask Him to keep your heart and the heart of your loved one free from bitterness, with a heart enlarged in love and free from being pressed down by resentment. We pray that even the one who did this wrong would be brought to see the truth and to repent.
We will continue to pray that the Lord will open this loved one's heart to receive His grace without delay, that He will heal and restore what has been damaged, and that His justice and His mercy will both be clearly seen.
