Prayer for this dream job

I've been unemployed for 10 months and been applying to over hundred jobs. I've been struggling with money for a while now. I had an interview a week ago and i got some information yesterday that there has been some delay on the process, but i understood that i still could be in the "finals". I believe on the coming days i might hear some news from them. This job would be a dream job. Job that i've been looking for. With good pay and benefits. I want this job so badly. It would change my life around.. I'm a good person. I just hope that this would be the time that i get really good news

We hear the heaviness and hope in your heart after ### months of unemployment, over a hundred applications, and the financial struggle you have endured, and we are bringing your request before the Lord together with you. We understand how much this dream job means to you and how life changing it would feel to receive good news after such a long wait and delay in the process. We want you to know that God sees your diligence, your need, and your waiting, and He cares deeply for you.

We notice you said you are a good person and hope this goodness will bring you good news, and we want to gently share what Scripture teaches because we love you and want you to have true hope. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in Ephesians 2:8-9 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. None of us can earn God's favor by being good enough, and our hope is not in our own goodness but in Jesus Christ alone. We also noticed your request did not mention Jesus, and we want to share that it is only through Him that we have access to God. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins and for eternal life, we encourage you to call upon Him today, believe that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord. It is through Jesus that our prayers are heard and our needs are met according to God's will.

We take comfort in God's promises for provision and guidance while you wait. In Philippians 4:19 My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. In Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. In Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And in Matthew 6:33 But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. We also cling to Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Whether this specific job is God's best for you or whether He has something even better, we trust He will lead you and provide.

We pray together for you now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one who has been waiting and working so hard for so long. You know every application, every interview, every disappointment and every hope. We ask for Your peace to guard this heart during this delay and to take away anxiety. Lord, if it is Your will, we ask that You open the door to this dream job with good pay and benefits and let favor rest upon this final stage of the process. If this is not Your will, we ask that You close this door gently and open a better one, and that You provide for every financial need in the meantime. We pray that You would deepen faith in Jesus, remind this dear one that worth and hope are not found in a job but in You, and help each day to be lived for Your glory, working heartily as for You as it says in Colossians 3:23. We ask that You supply daily bread, wisdom for finances, and opportunities to use gifts for Your kingdom while waiting. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to continue to be diligent in applying and following up, and to trust His timing even in delays. In Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart, as you delight in Him first. Keep bringing every worry to Him with thanksgiving, stay faithful in the small things, and rest in the truth that your Father knows what you need and will provide in His perfect way and time. We are standing with you in prayer for good news, but even more for God's best news for your life.

We hear how much weight you have been carrying these ten months. Applying to more than a hundred jobs while money has been tight is exhausting, and to finally have a dream opportunity within reach makes the waiting feel even heavier. It makes sense you would feel both hopeful and on edge after hearing about the delay.

Being told you are still in the finals is encouraging, and it is also hard because you cannot speed up their decision. In this in between time it can help to not wait alone. If you have a trusted friend, family member or pastor, let them know the timeline you are on and ask them to check in with you over the next few days. Keeping a simple daily rhythm for sleep, meals and time with others can steady you while the answer is still pending. If the financial strain is pressing, a local church or community agency often can connect you with someone who helps with budgeting and resources, which can ease a little pressure alongside prayer.

You mentioned being a good person, and we appreciate your honest heart. We want you to know your worth is not measured by whether this door opens, even as we understand how much this job would mean for you. We are asking God to provide for you and to lead you clearly.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see the months of effort and the hope for this job. Give peace in the waiting, wisdom for whatever comes next, and provision for daily needs. Lead the hiring process according to Your will and show the next steps clearly. We trust this to You in Jesus name, amen.

Ten months without work is a heavy burden to carry, and to have sent out more than a hundred applications and now to hang upon a delayed answer must greatly try your soul. I have heard your request and I take it to heart with true sympathy, for you are in that place of waiting where hope and fear contend together.

You speak of this as a dream job, one that would change your life with good pay and benefits, and I understand why your heart is set upon it. Yet let me speak to you as one who has watched many wait upon the Lord. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. When we are in a great hurry to have our own way, we do more mischief than could possibly have happened if we had kept still, resting in the Lord and waiting patiently for Him. There is a waiting God, and He waits that He may be gracious unto you. His delays are not forgetfulness. He waits to be gracious and His time of love will come when He has gotten His good end in the trial.

You say, I am a good person. Hear me with gentleness, for this is a point of great importance to your soul. Job himself was called a perfect and an upright man, one that feared God and eschewed evil, yet Job had to learn to retract all his pleadings and to yield himself unreservedly to his Maker, confessing that God must be right. Our goodness does not lay God under obligation to us. Our hope is not in our own merit but in the mercy of God through Jesus Christ alone, who bore our sins and is our only righteousness before God. If you would have peace in this waiting, come to Him in childlike confidence even when He seems to frown, trusting not in your own goodness but in the finished work of the Saviour.

Consider Job among the ashes. In all his losses and pain it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He arose and tore his mantle and fell down upon the ground and worshipped. He did not cease to feel sorrow, for a sore trial must be felt, but he kept right with God. And it is written also, The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery. When God has accomplished His purpose, which is to make us know Him more vividly and to defeat the enemy of our souls, He turns our captivity in His own good time. He can also anoint you with fresh oil and renew your strength like the bow that was renewed in Job's hand.

Therefore I would counsel you to do as Job did. Do not charge God foolishly if the answer tarries. Do not let your heart contend with your Maker over His providence. Bring your desire before Him plainly and leave it there. Pray for daily bread and for contentment in His will, whether this door opens or another is appointed for you.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our heavenly Father, Thou knowest this Thy servant who has waited long and is wearied with seeking work. Thou seest the need for provision and the desire for this employment. Have mercy and show Thy gracious providence. If it be Thy will, open this door and grant favour in the eyes of those who decide, and provide honest work with needful supply. If it be not Thy will, close it gently and guide to that which Thou hast prepared, and keep this soul from despair. Forgive sin through the blood of Jesus Christ and give faith to trust not in our own goodness but in Him alone. Give patience to wait upon Thee, quietness of spirit, and a heart to worship Thee still, as Job did, though tried. Turn captivity into joy in Thy perfect time, and let this waiting turn to a glorious transaction of grace upon the heart. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our hope. Amen.
