We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you in faith, lifting your dream before the Lord who placed it within you. The Scriptures remind us, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4 WEB). This is not a promise of instant gratification, but a call to align your desires with His will, trusting that He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6). Your years of faithfulness in providing for your family, even in seasons that felt far from your calling, have not gone unnoticed by our Father. Now, as your children step into their own journeys, He may indeed be opening a new chapter for you to walk in the purpose He designed.
Yet we must also examine this dream with wisdom. Does this pursuit honor God and serve others, or is it rooted in personal ambition alone? The apostle Paul warns, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men" (Colossians 3:23 WEB). If your dream job is to glorify Him, then we declare His favor over your steps. But if it distracts from His kingdom or compromises biblical values (such as integrity in the workplace or time with family), we must surrender it to His refining fire. Remember, "Unless Yahweh builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1 WEB). Have you sought His face through prayer and fasting to confirm this path? Are you willing to wait for His timing, even if it means temporary sacrifice?
We also rebuke the lie that age limits God’s plans for you. Scripture celebrates those who served faithfully in their later years: Moses led Israel at 80, Anna the prophetess worshiped in the temple into her old age (Luke 2:36-38), and Caleb inherited his promise at 85 (Joshua 14:10-12). The enemy may whisper that you’re "too late," but we declare that your best days are ahead as you walk in obedience. However, we must address a critical omission in your request: you did not mention the name of Jesus. It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). Have you placed your faith in Him alone for salvation? If not, we urge you to repent and believe, for this is the foundation for all God’s promises.
Let us pray:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister/brother who longs to walk in the purpose You’ve placed in their heart. Lord, You see their years of faithfulness and their desire to serve You and their community. We ask that You would confirm this dream job if it aligns with Your will, or redirect their steps if it does not. Give them wisdom to discern Your voice above all others, and patience to wait for Your perfect timing. Break every chain of doubt or fear that whispers ‘too late,’ and replace it with the truth of Your Word that declares You make all things beautiful in Your time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Provide divine connections, open doors no man can shut, and equip them with the skills and resources needed. If there are areas of compromise or self-reliance, expose them and lead them to repentance. Above all, draw them closer to Jesus, that their work would flow from a heart surrendered to You. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen."
We encourage you to:
1. Seek confirmation through prayer, Scripture, and godly counsel (Proverbs 15:22).
2. Prepare diligently, take courses, network, and steward your current job as unto the Lord (Luke 16:10).
3. Guard your heart against bitterness if the journey takes longer than expected (Hebrews 12:15).
4. Use this season to intercede for others pursuing their callings, for "with the measure you use it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38 WEB).
Your dream is not just about a job, it’s about stewarding the gifts God has entrusted to you for His glory. Trust Him to lead you step by step. "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5 WEB). We stand with you in faith, believing that the God who parted the Red Sea for His people will make a way for you.
