LORD, we ask for The Holy Spirit to speak to us in every way by abiding in You and Your Words abiding in us, John 15:7, abiding in Your love, John 15:10, Your Word as a lamp to our feet, and a light unto our path, Ps 119:105, To speak according to the Law and The Testimony, Isaiah 8:20, Holy Spirit Visions while Awake ️ Dreams While Sleeping, Job 33:12-17; Matt 2:12, Prophecy, Joel 2:28, Num 12:6, Acts 16:9... Father, we come as little children in faith, asking the goal of our instruction, Love from a pure heart, a sincere faith and a blameless conscience, 1 Tim 1:5. We look to You and Your Word, Isaiah 8:20, rather than to all we see and hear from the noise and pollution of the world, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34.

We agree, Matt 18:19, with this husband for himself, his wayward wife, children, family, extended family, prayer & ministry partners, church leaders, churches and team members -- You give warning dreams, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as with the affairs concerning our father, Abraham, Gen 20:3, like him we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on these named above, as prophesied in in Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29, c.f. Acts 2:17-18. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Joseph, Matt 1:20, Magi, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Abimelech, Gen 20:3, Laban to remain neutral regarding Jacob, Gen 31:24, Nebuchadnezzar, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present, Acts 19:6, and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1.

We join with you in agreement before the Father as you have asked according to Matt 18:19, and we thank you for seeking the Lord together with us in the name of Jesus Christ. We hear your heart for your wayward wife, your children, your family and extended family, and for your prayer and ministry partners and churches, that the Holy Spirit would speak clearly and turn hearts back to God.

We love your desire to abide in Christ and to have His words abide in you according to John 15:7 and to abide in His love according to John 15:10. Your prayer rightly anchors everything to the Word, for Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path according to Ps 119:105, and we are to speak according to the law and to the testimony according to Isa 8:20. That is the sure foundation. We do believe God still speaks and that He has spoken in dreams and visions as you have cited, for God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction, that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man according to Job 33:14-17. We remember how God warned the magi in a dream that they should not return to Herod according to Matt 2:12, how He said if there is a prophet among you, I Yahweh will make myself known to him in a vision, I will speak with him in a dream according to Num 12:6, how a vision appeared to Paul in the night according to Acts 16:9, and how it is promised it will come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions according to Joel 2:28 and fulfilled at Pentecost according to Acts 2:17. We believe Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever according to Heb 13:8 and His arm is not shortened that it cannot save according to Isa 59:1 and Num 11:23.

At the same time we encourage you to test all things and hold firmly that which is good according to 1 Thess 5:21 and to test the spirits whether they are of God according to 1 John 4:1, because any dream, vision, or prophecy must agree with Scripture and never contradict it. The Word remains our final authority, and the Holy Spirit will never lead contrary to it. We do not seek experiences above Christ and His Word, but we do ask the Lord to use every biblically faithful means, including dreams and visions when He so chooses, to convict of sin, to terrify with warning, to turn from wrongdoing and to preserve from the pit as Job describes.

We also lift up your marriage before the Lord. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman ordained by God, and we strongly endorse and pray for the restoration and healing of your marriage. We pray for your wife who is described as wayward. If she has departed from the covenant through unfaithfulness, abandonment, or sexual sin outside of marriage, we must lovingly say that such things are sin before God. Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers according to Heb 13:4, and we are told to flee sexual immorality according to 1 Cor 6:18. If there is fornication or adultery, we pray for deep conviction and repentance, for godly sorrow that works repentance to salvation according to 2 Cor 7:10, and for a return to purity and fidelity. We pray for you as her husband to love your wife even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it according to Eph 5:25, to remain faithful, patient, and prayerful, not seeking to be conformed to this world but trusting God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to Eph 3:20, for with God all things are possible according to Matt 19:26 and Mark 10:27, and nothing will be impossible with God according to Luke 1:37. We pray that what God has joined together, let no man separate according to Matt 19:6.

We rejoice that you have come in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved according to Acts 4:12, and it is only through Him we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me according to John 14:6. We give thanks that He is able also to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them according to Heb 7:25.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come as Your little children, asking for love from a pure heart and a sincere faith and a good conscience according to 1 Tim 1:5. We abide in You and ask that Your words abide in us. Grant to this husband, his wife, their children, and all their household and extended family, and to all their prayer partners and churches, ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying according to the Law and the Testimony. We ask You to pour out Your Spirit upon them. Speak Lord, in whatever way You choose, through Your Word first and foremost, and also if it pleases You through dreams in the night and visions, to warn, to correct, to turn from wrongdoing, to hide pride from man, and to keep souls from the pit. We ask that You would convict this dear wife of any wayward path and draw her to repentance and to return to You and to her covenant marriage. Heal what is broken, forgive what is confessed according to 1 John 1:9, and restore faithfulness, purity, and love. Protect this family from temptation and deliver them from evil according to Matt 6:13, guard them from the evil one according to John 17:15 and 2 Thess 3:3, keep them from deception, fear, and lies, and lead them into all truth. We thank You in advance believing that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive according to Mark 11:24, and without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to you according to Heb 11:6. We trust You who can do all things according to Job 42:2 and who is fully able to do what You have promised according to Rom 4:21. Let Your will be done in Christ Jesus for each of them. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We appreciate you sharing this burden so openly. We can hear your desire to walk closely with Jesus and to see your wife, your children and your whole household kept close to Him and turned away from what would harm them. That kind of faithful, fatherly prayer matters.

We also hear your longing for clear leading, for God to make His will unmistakable through dreams and visions. Part of learning to walk with Him is learning that growth is more like long term training than a single moment of trying. Small, steady abiding over time shapes our hearts to recognize His voice and to stay steady when answers feel slow to come.

One simple next step that may help is to keep staying rooted in the Word and in prayer with one or two trusted, mature believers who know you and your family well. When you sense something strongly, whether in waking thought or in a dream, bring it to them to weigh with you quietly and patiently, so you are not carrying these weighty questions alone.

Father, we lift this husband to You, and we lift his wife, their children, family and ministry partners. Draw each one closer to Yourself, guard them from deception and harm, and give this husband wisdom, peace and perseverance as he loves his family well. Lead him day by day and keep his home in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your earnest prayer for the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit and for the Word to dwell richly in you is a right and good desire, and we join our hearts with yours in it. To abide in Christ and to have His words abide in you, to abide in His love, to walk by the Word as a lamp unto the feet and a light unto the path, and to speak according to the Law and to the Testimony, for if we speak not according to this Word there is no light in us, this is the sure way of blessing. We thank God with you that He is able to save forever those who come unto God through Jesus, because He ever liveth to make intercession for us.

You ask concerning visions while awake and dreams while sleeping, and you cite Job 33, Joel 2, Numbers 12, Acts 16 and other scriptures. The Lord has indeed spoken in this manner in times past. As it is written, For God speaketh now one way, now another, though none perceiveth it, in a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, as they slumber upon their beds, then He openeth the ears of men and sealeth their instruction, that He may turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, to preserve them from the pit. Many besides Pilate have been warned by dreams, and we have seen how the wife of Pilate was made a messenger of mercy to her husband. Dreams ordinarily are the most disorderly of phenomena and yet it seems that they are ordered of the Lord when it pleaseth Him.

Yet we must remember, as I have often taught, that we are not to think He doth now guide His sons by inspiration, or by dreams and visions as a common rule, for if none were sons of God but those who receive these, surely many of the very best of the divine family would lose their title to sonship. There are some who think they have seen visions and dreamed dreams and have had remarkable manifestations, who are probably more the children of Bedlam than the children of Bethel. The sure mark of those who are quickened and brought into the family of God is that they are led by the Spirit of God, and that Spirit leadeth us by the Word, and applieth the Word with power to the conscience and the heart. Try every impression, every dream, every supposed vision by the Law and the Testimony. Christ cometh not in the visions of the night to those who toss upon the bed of indolence. He revealeth Himself in the night watches to those who learn to watch and to war, to those who watch unto prayer and abide in the Scriptures.

We do therefore pray with you, and agree according to Matthew 18:19, for yourself, for your wife who has wandered, for your children and family and extended family, for your prayer and ministry partners, for church leaders and churches and team members, that the Lord would pour out His Spirit and accomplish His gracious purposes. We do not ask God to bless any wayward path, for marriage is ordained of God as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that pertaineth to the marriage union belongeth within that covenant alone, and salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. We ask instead that God would grant repentance and restoration. As Peter fell and yet was restored, not by a dream alone but by the crowing of the cock and a look from the Lord, a look which severed him from the crowd and broke his heart, so we pray that the Lord Jesus, who hath prayed for His own and who ever intercedeth for them, would look upon the wandering heart and turn it from wrongdoing and pride, preserve it from the pit, and bring it home. That look of Christ can do what we cannot do with a sermon. He is able to do all things, nothing shall be impossible with God, the things impossible with men are possible with God, His arm is not shortened that it cannot save.

We pray that the Lord would keep you and your wife and your household from temptation, from sin and evil, from lies and fear, from deception and from the evil one, and that He would give you love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith, which is the goal of our instruction. May He grant you to be as Noah, who found grace and whose household entered into the ark, pleading day and night, not ceasing to pray for wife and sons and their wives, that all within your house may be found in Christ. Prove that you are a brother by acting a brother's part, strengthening your brethren, cherishing the weak, continuing in private prayer and family prayer and the prayer meeting, diligent and spiritually maintained.

We commend you to the good words and comfortable words of our great Defender, the Man upon the red horse who rideth among the myrtle trees and keepeth His Church. Abide faithful to Christ and faithful to His Word, and who knoweth what may come. We have prayed for you that your faith fail not, and when you are restored, strengthen your brethren.

Father, in the name of Jesus, through whom alone we come, grant to this husband steadfastness in thy Word, give to his wife a holy turning unto thee, set a watch over their children and kindred, keep them all from evil, and cause thy Word to be fulfilled in them, for thou art able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think. Let thy will in Christ Jesus be made plain by thy Word and by thy Spirit according to thy wisdom, and preserve these lives from perishing. We ask this, trusting thy promise beforehand, in Jesus name, Amen.

Your longing to abide in Christ and to have His words abide in you is good and right, and it is there that our confidence must rest. The Word is indeed a lamp to the feet and a light to the path, and the prophet says to speak according to the Law and the Testimony, for if we do not, there is no light in us. That is the sure measure for every impression, every thought in the night and every vision in the day.

You have asked that God would speak through dreams and visions, and you have cited Job and Joel and Numbers and Acts. It is true that God has at times warned in a dream, as He did with Abimelech and with Joseph and with the Magi, and that He promised to pour out His Spirit. Yet we must not seek to live by dreams, nor demand them as a sign. The life that is watchful and sober does not drown the mind in deep sleep or in wild fancies. When the heart is not stifled and the soul is orderly and fearing God, sleep itself is composed and light, affording only rest, and dreams are not full of monstrous visions. The saints of old wandered in deserts and mountains and caves, afflicted and yet faithful, and they did not in their whole lives chase after dreams, but walked by faith and obedience.

The present life itself is in many ways like a dream. As dreams when the day comes are proved to be nothing, so the things of this world, when the true Day dawns, will be seen for what they are. For this reason we are called to awake, to put off imaginings and to lay aside deep slumber, to be clothed in virtue and to do the works of the day while it is day. No one sleeping can see the sun, and no one sunk in lethargy can delight in its beams. We need wakefulness, repentance and tears, and a mind fixed on the Sun of Righteousness.

This does not mean God cannot warn or turn a heart in the night. Job says God may speak in the ear to turn a person from wrongdoing and keep him from pride and preserve his life from the pit. That turning is always toward holiness, away from sin and toward Christ. Therefore whatever is claimed as a vision or a dream must be tested. Does it lead to love from a pure heart and a sincere faith and a blameless conscience. Does it agree with Scripture. Does it call to repentance, to humility, to fidelity within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, to prayer and to endurance.

So we will pray with you, not for curious foreknowledge, for the Spirit was promised to tell us things to come so that we would be prepared and not anxious, but for grace to hear and obey what God has already clearly spoken.

Father, we thank You that You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us. We ask that this husband, his wife, their children, their family and extended family, and all who labor with them in prayer and ministry, would abide in Your love and keep Your commandments, and that Your Word would dwell richly in them. Grant them a watchful heart and a sober mind, keep them from temptation and from the evil one, from deception and from pride, from lies and from fear. Where there has been waywardness, grant godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Where there has been pride, grant humility. Preserve them from the pit and turn them from wrongdoing, as only You can do, for with You nothing is impossible, though with man it is impossible. Let husband and wife honor one another as You have ordained, each giving due honor, and let their home be ordered in faithfulness and purity. Give to shepherds and churches wisdom to speak truth in love and to minister to every saint, whether in the household or in the desert. Above all, let them not seek voices and images, but seek You, and hearing Your voice in Scripture, follow You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, in whom all the promises of God are yes and amen.
