Prayer for the world and humanity, to hopefully make things better for all

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I would not call myself a "traditional" Christian, if I even am a Christian - as you will probably see. You may or may not agree with my point of view, or agree with some parts but not other parts.

God, please eliminate:

Greed / love of money. It causes so many problems and leads to people doing terrible things in its pursuit.

Envy.

Wrath/revenge.

Sloth.

Gluttony.

Reduce pride to a small amount spread across the human race so that people are interested in doing a good job at their jobs whatever their jobs are.

Reduce lust. The human race should not die out due to lack of interest. For those choosing to be sexually active, sexual activity should only be between consenting adults who honor their commitments and their consciences (no rape, no incest, no pedophilia, no kids, no animals) who are fully informed of medical scientific facts about the risks and responsibilities of sexual activity and consistently and correctly do what is needed to protect their health and the health of others and prevent unintended consequences. The goal is for all pregnancies to be intended, wanted and as healthy as possible. Help us ensure good pre-pregnancy and prenatal care for all. Help us provide contraceptives and health protecting meds for those who need them and whose conscience allows them to use them. Clarify any existing laws that are unclear to medical staff about when medical intervention can happen if a miscarriage happens to first protect the lives of women and then protect their future fertility. Help us improve the effectiveness of existing contraceptives and create new ones.

ABOUT CONSCIENCE: Each person may have a particular religious belief or set of beliefs, or a moral / ethical philosophy that guides their life. At least I hope people have morals/ethics/conscience to guide them. These are likely to vary from person to person. These may be private matters. If these matters of conscience mean the individual has additional requirements (ex. Sexual activity only with their spouse of the same or a different gender, etc), then they should follow those matters of conscience.

Eliminate addiction.

Eliminate human on human violence other than what is necessary for medical and dental care.

More empathy and compassion and kindness. More compromise and tolerance of those who are not like us.

Commandments:

No murder

No rape

No lying

No cheating

No stealing

Treat others like you want to be treated-includes elimination of dehumanization and outward celebrations of the misfortunes of others (including those we don't like) - we are all human and go through stuff.

Try to leave the world a better place than you found it.

We hear your heart for the world and humanity, and we join you in lifting these concerns before the Lord. Your desire to see greed, envy, wrath, sloth, gluttony, and lust diminished reflects a longing for righteousness that aligns with God’s Word. The Bible warns us about the dangers of these sins, as they corrupt the heart and lead to destruction. "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:10). We must remember that these struggles are not just societal issues but spiritual battles that require God’s intervention and our surrender to His will.

However, we must address some areas where your request does not fully align with biblical principles. First and foremost, we must emphasize that salvation and access to God come only through Jesus Christ. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6). If you are unsure about your standing as a Christian, we urge you to examine your faith in Christ alone for salvation. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that you would come to know Him more deeply and place your trust in Him.

Regarding your perspective on sexual activity, Scripture is clear that God’s design for intimacy is within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). Sexual activity outside of this biblical framework, even if consensual, is considered fornication and is sinful in God’s eyes. We must also firmly reject any suggestion that same-sex relationships or marriages are permissible, as Scripture explicitly condemns homosexuality (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). We encourage you to seek God’s truth in these matters and align your beliefs with His Word.

Your desire for empathy, compassion, and kindness is commendable, as these are fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). However, we must also uphold God’s standards of righteousness, which include rebuking sin and calling people to repentance. Compromise on biblical truth is not an option, but we can still extend love and grace to those who struggle, just as Christ does for us.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for the brokenness of this world. We ask for Your mercy and grace to transform lives and societies. Lord, we pray against the love of money, envy, wrath, sloth, gluttony, and lust, which lead to so much pain and destruction. Purify our hearts and help us to seek You above all else. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance in all matters of life, especially in relationships and sexuality, that we may honor You in all we do.

Father, we lift up those who are lost and searching for truth. Draw them to Yourself through Jesus Christ, the only way to salvation. Soften hearts to receive Your Word and turn from sin. We pray for marriages to be strengthened and for individuals to pursue godly relationships that honor You. Lord, eliminate addiction and violence, and replace them with Your peace and love. Fill us with empathy, compassion, and kindness, that we may reflect Your character to the world.

Help us to stand firm on Your truth while extending grace to others. May we be instruments of Your love, pointing others to the hope found only in Christ. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

We encourage you to study Scripture and seek God’s will in all areas of life. His ways are perfect, and His love for you is unchanging. If you have questions about salvation or biblical truth, we are here to walk alongside you in faith.

Dear friend,

We echo your heartfelt prayer for the world and humanity, joining you in asking God to eliminate greed, envy, wrath, sloth, gluttony, and lust. These sins indeed cause immense harm and lead to destruction. As you've pointed out, the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10). We need God's intervention and our surrender to His will to overcome these spiritual battles.

We're also moved by your desire for more empathy, compassion, kindness, and understanding. These qualities are indeed fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and should characterize our lives as believers. However, let's remember that God's love is not just about accepting everything but also about calling each other to righteousness and repentance (2 Timothy 4:2).

In your prayer, you've mentioned some aspects related to sexual activity and contraception. While we agree that sexual activity should be between consenting adults who honor their commitments and protect their health, we want to gently remind you that according to the Bible, God's design for sexual intimacy is within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4). Sexual activity outside of this biblical framework, even if consensual, is considered fornication and is sinful in God's eyes. We encourage you to study Scripture and seek God's truth in these matters.

We also pray for God's mercy and grace to transform lives and societies. We ask for His wisdom and guidance in all matters of life, especially in relationships and sexuality, that we may honor Him in all we do. We lift up those who are lost and searching for truth, praying that they may be drawn to God through Jesus Christ, the only way to salvation (John 14:6, Acts 4:12).

Let's continue to stand firm on God's truth while extending grace to others, reflecting His character to the world. We're here to walk alongside you in faith, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or need prayer.

In Christ's love,

[Your Name]
