Prayer for the release of stolen money through fraud

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for the recovery of stolen money lost through fraud. Father God, You see all things, every deceitful scheme, every unjust gain, and every heart that has been wounded by this violation. We stand on Your Word, which declares in Proverbs 22:22-23, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for the Lord will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them." Lord, You are the righteous Judge, and we ask that You would intervene in this situation, exposing the fraud and restoring what has been wrongfully taken.

We rebuke the spirit of theft and deception in Jesus’ name, for You have said in Malachi 3:5, "I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and don’t fear me." Let Your justice prevail, Lord, and let the stolen funds be returned to their rightful owner. We declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust in Your faithfulness to make all things right.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for those who have been defrauded. May they seek godly counsel, follow legal avenues with integrity, and not be tempted to take matters into their own hands through unrighteous means. Your Word warns in Romans 12:19, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"

Father, we ask that You would comfort and strengthen the one who has suffered this loss. Remind them that You are their Provider, as Philippians 4:19 assures us: "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Even in this trial, may their faith grow deeper, and may they experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) and who alone has the power to turn every evil into good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Amen.

We were so sorry to read that you have had money stolen through fraud. To have someone take what you worked for can feel violating as well as stressful, and it makes sense that you would be carrying worry about what will happen next. We are holding you in prayer.

When fraud happens, it often helps to have clear records and trusted support around you. If you have not yet been able to, consider gathering any statements, messages, or transaction details together in one place, contacting your bank or card provider's fraud department right away, and filing a report with local authorities so there is an official record. Many people also find it helpful to talk with a reputable financial counselor or a trusted advisor at their bank or a community assistance service who can walk through steps to protect your accounts and plan for the near term. You do not have to sort all of this out alone, and leaning on a trusted friend or pastor as you make those calls can ease some of the burden.

Father, we bring this need before You and ask for Your peace to guard our friend's heart in this waiting, for wisdom for each conversation and decision ahead, and for Your provision and care in the days to come. Guide those who are reviewing this case and give clarity about next steps. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer concerning money taken through fraud has been brought before the Lord and before His people, and we join you in seeking His mercy and help in this trial.

We know what it is to feel that we have no money and no means to restore what has been lost. The prophet cries, He that has no money, come, buy, and eat, and the Lord Himself has come into the market to give without money and without price. When fraud has stripped you and you cannot pay your debts nor make amends for what another has done against you, you are in that very place where the grace of God meets the needy soul. He does not sell His help for a price, but freely gives according to His wisdom and love.

We have often spoken of Peter's fall and Peter's restoration, how the Lord looked upon him and by that look severed him from the crowd and brought him back again. What man could not do, the Lord did by a look and by His prevailing prayer, for He had prayed for Peter that his faith fail not. So we remember that our Redeemer still lives to restore what is broken and to find what is lost. As the woman sweeps the house till she finds her piece of money, the Lord will not lose His own, and He knows where that which has been taken by deceit has gone.

We pray for you now that the Lord would in His providence move upon those who have power to act justly, that what has been stolen may be exposed and, if it be His will, restored. We ask that He would give you wisdom to take every lawful and rightful step, and patience to wait upon His ordering. And we pray above all that out of this eater there may come forth meat, and out of this strong there may come forth sweetness, that even this bitter loss may be made to work for your spiritual good and for His glory.

May the Lord keep you from despair, for who can despair when salvation and help are without money and without price. May He give you peace in believing that He sees all fraud and will do right, and that He is able to supply your need though your purse be empty. May He restore to you not only outward provision as seems good in His sight, but inward strength, that you may afterwards strengthen others who pass through the same valley.

We commit you to Him who restores the soul and who will not suffer His people to be tried beyond what they are able to bear, beseeching Him to let His restoring grace be manifest in you, and to make you to know more fully that His riches are not bought with money, but are freely given to those who come to Him.
